Rene leapt over another roof, looking around every once in awhile. Ciel came up behind her. “See anything yet?”
Rene shook her head. “How ‘bout you, Ariel?”
A couple blocks away, Ariel held her hand up to her earpiece. “Nope,” she said, popping the ‘p.’ “I don’t think Revenge does either, but how should I know? He doesn’t talk.”
“Yeah, he’s like,” Aisling had a sudden coughing fit, “in that way...”
Rowan glanced over at her. “You okay?”
She snickered quietly. “Yeah, I’m fine. Tanner? Fang? Any luck overhead?”
The two landed behind them. “No, nothing,” Fang muttered. “Not even a spark!” Tanner added, receiving the tiniest of glares. “What? It’s true!”
Harley sighed. “This is bull. There’s absolutely no sign of her or Chelsea.” Delta sat Weiter to her, nodding. “We got about 4 hours left before Fin’s screwed over for life. Anything yet on your side?” she asked in her earpiece.
Eric slumped on the couch in the apartment he’d left about an Stunde ago. “Nothing except what I remember from last night. I don’t have anything to go on, I--”
He froze, glancing at the coffee table, where his jacke was sitting on the corner. He knelt down and looked at it, inspecting it, because he was sure that he had put it down on the back of the couch. In the left hand pocket he found a small envelope, somewhat crumpled and worn. The Schreiben on it was small in dark, almost black, red ink. He quickly the letter inside, his eyes tightening with anger at each word. Another read through and he couldn’t see clearly, his vision blurred with angry tears. Something crackled in his ear, and he shook his head.
“Eric? Eric what’s wrong? Seriously, we have no time for Du to do this,” Delta worriedly asked.
“We don’t have time at all. If we can’t find your sister in an hour, we’ll never see her again.”
Aisling’s eyes widened. “Do we any way to find her at all?” she screeched, rather loudly, making Rowan flinch slightly. “Calm down, Ash,” he murmured, patting her lightly on the hand. “We can find her. And besides, she’ll come right back if she dies, won’t she?”
Aisling swallowed and nodded calmly, shivering slightly. “Yeah, yeah. She’ll come back.”
Delta sighed inwardly, when she felt Eric reach her through his mind-meld. She may not come back...
What? Delta almost yelped out loud. Why not?
We haven’t proven she comes back if she kills herself. Chelsea’s going to make her do it.
Simply to leave Du wanting more... Part 6 is done, but I’m not posting it until the weekend. >:D
