Alex paced her room, bored. It was just another summer Thursday in the city of Verona, Italy. Her mom was in her Home office, reviewing a book for publishing, and Alex's little brother Sam was at the park with his friends. Alex would do the same, but she didn't have many friends, and her best friend was in Paris for the summer. Alex stopped pacing, stomped her foot and quietly cursed her bordom in Italian. Then she slipped on her ballet wohnungen and bonded out into the hall.
"Mom! I'm going to check the mail! Be right back!" She shouted in American English into the apartment and grabbed the keys. Without waiting for an answer, Alex closed the door behind her and started towards the stairs. She skipped down the steps, two at a time, until the finally reached ground level. The lobby was a nice place, with red walls, a Gold desk, two Gold couches on the opposite side, and big(fake) bushes on eather side of the double doors. When the man behind the schreibtisch heard her come down, he looked up from his computer, his fingers still typing. He nodded, then flicked his gaze back to the computer. Alex turned a sharp 90 degree angle and found the mail box. She stuck the key into the number twelve box and opened it. Since her mom had checked the mail only two days ago, there wasn't much in it. Just some letters and one of those big flyers for a vacation in Hawaii. Alex closed the mail box door and slowly began back up the stairs, shifting through the mail.
'Bill, bill, bill, ohh, what's this?' Alex pulled out a yellow envelope. It was one of those that had little brown flecks on it, like someone had lightly sprinkled it with dirt. In the very center was her name and address, written in classic black-ink cursive. Alex turned it over, but there was no return address. Alex shrugged, put it back in the stack in her hands, and quickened her pace back to two steps at a time.
When she got back to her apartment, Alex tossed the bills on the end table, and threw the flyer away. Walking to her room, Alex turned the letter over in her hands. It was dry and soft at the same time, and it smelled faintly of lavender. Alex tossed herself on her bett and wondered who had sent the letter. She hesitated before opening it. She thought 'What if it's a scam? What if they put a tracking devise on it and as I speak are tracking were I live?' But in the end, Alex's curiosity won out. She ripped open the envelope and took out four pieces of paper. Two were written in English, and two were written in Italian. Since it was her birth tongue, Alex read the English one first. She put one page behind the first and was about to read when suddenly a woman's voice beat her to it.
"Dear Ms. Alexandria Linguini Hays".......... Alex shrieked and jumped off her bed, quickly burrowing herself in her stuffed animal pile at one corner of her bed.
"Congratulations! Du have been excepted into Tairian School for Witches, a girls boarding school for young witches! Du will receive your own wand when Du arrive, and during the Jahr Du will learn how to use it to cast useful spells."
Alex's jaw dropped.
"On July 30th, Du will go to Verona Train Station, platform fifteen. Get on the 10:30 train. Here is your ticket; do not, under any circumstances, loose this ticket. If Du do, Du will have to pay a fine of a hundred dollars to receive a new one."
"The other sheet of paper is a Liste of all the things Du will bring, from your Home and thing Du will buy. Again, congratulations and welcome to the world of magic!"
"Sincerely,
Professor A. McGuffry

Silence........
Ten Minuten passed..........
Fifteen Minuten passed.........
After twenty minutes, Alex finally got up. On the papers was a train ticket that Alex knew had not been there before. It was scheduled for 10:30, platform fifteen. Just like the woman had said. Gingerly, Alex picked up the letter. She read it once, twice. It sagte exactly what the woman had said.
That meant....... That she was........... Alex's face paled, and she ran as fast as she could to her moms room. "Mom!" Alex barged in. Her mom was sitting at her desk, her noise berried in a book. She sighed.
" Alex, how many times-" She looked up and saw Alex's face. " Alex honey? What's wrong?"
" This is? I get a letter that, when I opened it, starts to read it's self and claims that I'm a witch!" Alex waved the letter in the air.
Her moms face dropped. "Not you.......... I never thought they would........... Oh dear, I have some explaining to do." She put the book down and stood up.
"Yes, yes Du do." Alex folded her arms. Her Mom sat down on the bett and motioned for Alex to do the same. When she did, her mom sighed again.
" Well, I'll be frank with you, Alex. Your father was a wizard, and it seems that Du have inherited his blood." She looked at Alex, almost like this was her fault. Alex's head was spinning. 'Not half an Stunde Vor I was a normal American and Italian girl living in Verona. Now I'm a witch!'. Surprisingly, Alex took it well. It seemed like she had forgotten something, then remembered it. It just fit into her life. Maybe it was the fact it had something to do with her dad, who had died when Alex was four in a fire. Alex nodded, suddenly calm.
"Sure, Im a witch. Why not?"

upset
and so many thoughts
circling around
your head,
Du try to make
this right,
to find the best way
so Du could feel better,
so Du could be free.
Pain will never
go away,
it always stays
to remember you
that life is not a dream,
life is unpredictable.
Endless questions,
so many "Why",
but the answer
we will
never find!
The strength within
will not let us crack,
life is unpredictable,
who's to say?
Today you're happy,
and yet
despair waits
stealthily
to engulf you.
But,
Du need to be prepared.
Not only bad things
happen to bad people.
Unfortunately,
so many pure,
honored hearts
have been broken for
so many times,
in so many pieces,
and yet
they live,
they live with
their agony,
they live with
their groan,
but they live,
tho their eyes are
always sad,
their hearts are
still softly.
Therefore
they know...
Therefore
they are...
The brightest star
that shines
in the dark,
that spark of hope
for all of us
who deserve better.
When Du look at the night sky, what do Du see?
In my eyes,
I see the moon as a peaceful spirit,
watching over me.
When Du stop and listen to the wind, what do Du hear?
In my eyes,
The wind sings to me and tells tales.
When Du feel the sun on your back, what do Du think?
In my eyes,
The sun reaches out and gives me a warm smile.
When Du hear a flowing stream, how does it sound?
In my eyes,
The stream is floating in my herz and soul, drifting on and on.
When Du look at me, what do Du see?
In my eyes,
I see an average girl who is silently struggling inside.
But that's all in my eyes.
In my eyes,
I see the moon as a peaceful spirit,
watching over me.
When Du stop and listen to the wind, what do Du hear?
In my eyes,
The wind sings to me and tells tales.
When Du feel the sun on your back, what do Du think?

Its too dark
Too dark to see what is going on
Tripping over the couch
Slamming into the wall
stepping on the remote
It was too dark
The undone dishes
The scattered roses
The broken picture
My broken heart
It was too dark
Believing it would change
That he would change
A Waste
A waste of my time
My Effort
The “No Messages” left on my phone
It was too dark
It was too dark to see what had happened
Too dark to try to fix things
Its just too dark
Someone turn on the light
That light bulb in my head of what Ive done wrong
Its too dark
Too dark to see what is going on
Tripping over the couch
Slamming into the wall
stepping on the remote
It was too dark
The undone dishes
The scattered roses
The broken picture
My broken heart
It was too dark
Believing it would change
