gegeben that Du end up with a story that's ready to be published, there are at least two parts to your answer request, so my answer will have at least two parts.

First, Du need to determine what Du mean Von "publish" when talking about your story. Do Du want to simply make it available to others to read, oder do Du want to have it published for cash? The Antwort to the two are very different.

Publish for others to read: Du can post this on any web site, just about. I would encourage Du to find a site where Du have a sense of community - where the people who may read your story know Du and respect you. Don't pick a place where no one has ever heard of you. Du could post it here on Fanpop if the level of commentary and critique Du see here is satisfactory to you. If not, Du might want to find a community dedicated to serious writing; such sites of necessity include serious critique. Receiving critical response and trying to respond to those criticisms are how Schreiben improves (in addition to just raw practice and lots of reading). If Du want some recommendations for sites, let me know. An additional consideration when publishing to a web site is whether Du wish to maintain your intellectual property rights over that writing. Every web site Du use has a "Terms of Service" document, and part of that document describes what happens to your rights to the content that Du post on that site. Some sites immediately own whatever Du post on that site as soon as it is posted, others do not claim ownership, and still others claim partial oder limited ownership, restricting your rights to post oder Veröffentlichen the material elsewhere. As a writer, Du must always make sure Du know the terms of service for a site BEFORE Du post your Schreiben to that site.

Publish for money: This is a whole different consideration, and there's very little overlap between the two (the exceptions being pay-for-unique-page-view sites like associatedcontent.com). Getting paid for your Schreiben almost always requires getting that Schreiben published in print (though some markets will also have rights to reproduce the written material online). If you're just getting started and have never Abgeschickt material for print publication before, Du will want to a) determine which markets are the right targets for your story, and b) send copies of the manuscript to the appropriate people at those markets. An indispensable tool for this is your local library. The librarian there can help Du determine the right targets ("I've got a story about X, what magazines oder publishers are there who deal in that subject?") for a), and then Du can refer to the library's copy of Writer's Market for b). Du must always make sure to use the most current copy of Writer's Market, of course. Additionally, there are many Bücher at the bibliothek that talk about how to format your Schreiben (how to write cover letters, etc) so that the editor Du send it to will actually see it.

It's great that you're interested in writing! My fisrt instinct for Du would be to suggest writers websites mainly for feedback and support. Send material that Du think is ready to be read but not exactly ready for final print. Ready to be read means: Correct spelling, correct punctuation and above all, dialogue and plot are clearly explained. Remember: Schreiben IS NOT like speaking and readers can easily get confused unless Du bridge ideas and scenes effectively.

I would also suggest that if Du Suchen for a beta-reader: someone who checks your spelling and grammar and maybe tells Du what to improve in your story before publishing. If Du Veröffentlichen your story while it has not been beta-read, make that clear in a author's note oder title. That might even help Du with getting a beta reader. It does not matter wether Du are a good writer oder not, having a beta reader ALWAYS helps. Two people see Mehr then one. Good luck!
