Can someone help me make a decision about my novel

Okay well my novel the wolf Man, it has sort of turned into a prequel, rather than the actual story it was going to be on. A character that was supposed to have just a short appearance at the beginning turned out giving me a bigger story than planned and made my prologue longer than most of my chapters and i think it would make it much longer if i let him.
So i have been thinking about splitting it up in to two Bücher good idea? maybe please tell me what your thoughts are on it please

How about instead of making a prequel and then another book, why don't Du just make it as ''book one'' and ''book two'', like a series. But if it really has to be a prequel, but Du have another story, then sure; make it into two books! It'll make the reader want to know Mehr when they read the prequel.
