How do Du guys keep yourselves motivated when writing?

May sound stupid, but it's a problem for me.

I have loads of ideas and I want to write them but when I start it's like "yes, lets do this!" but then after a while, it's like "this isn't fun anymore." And then I leave the story for ages and I just can't get back into the stride of things.

Then, when I am motivated and I finish a chapter oder whatever I'm like "Woo hoo!" and then I go back to look over it all and Bearbeiten it, and I just get so bored and I end up leaving to story again, so I may as well have not bothered.

Does that at all make sense?

I've done that before. Several times actually, but usually it's because I find out "Oh sugar, someone's done that before!" and later I read it again and I think "Oh my goodness I thought this was good?! What was I thinking?!"
But it's hard to be motivated on my own. I usually think of my muse, and I find it fun to write again. Sometimes I take breaks. I usually write short stories on the side of my main story I'm writing, but I don't write it all first, in fact I've done Mehr planning than writing. I've got the opening paragraph and that's about it, but every Tag I jot down notes in a notebook, draw my characters how I want them to look in the best 2D version I can manage, seeing as I'm not the best artist, but they're my personal notes.
I usually get my dad to read little notes (not with me in the room - I hate seeing people's faces as they're Lesen the stuff I've written) but usually that gives me enough motivation. I think of my characters, my story, my plot, and I look outside my window and the nature is always so beautiful there that I have the urge to either write oder play the violin (don't ask) but each person has a unique need of motivation, for some it's nature, for some it's music, for some it's other's opinions, for some it's reading. There are many different ways to get motivation that it would be hard to know what motivates a single person if you've never met them and spoken to them and known them for some time.

Yeah , I do exactly the same . I'll start a story then get bored of it then start it again . What I do is go back and read the chapters before that , I left one of my stories for 4 months to write something new and I've just gone back to it . So yes , it does make sense.

Yes, it makes sense. I do it all the time. It's rare I actually finish a story when I start it. Usually it's about 6 to 8 months later. Sometimes it has even been over a Jahr later. Needless to say, I don't finish most of the stories I start. I still write though. Not so much to finish it, but because I enjoy writing.

I do the same- I've just started the ninth (short) chapter of a story I'm writing, after like 5 months and I'm already bored of it. It wasn;t one of my beest plot ideas XD

What I do is remember the feeling when I had the idea. I spent ages talking to a friend about this particular story, and I was really excited about starting it. Think about what Du like about your story, and make sure Du keep this in mind. It might be certain characters who are fun to write about, oder a certain setting Du enjoy describing. Whatever it is, think about it as Du write.

I'm writting many things in the moment, but I'll talk about 3.

One of them is the Son of Neptune. It was the first fanfic of its kind on the Heroes of Olympus spot, but now the spot seems invaded Von them! Anyways, its gepostet on a forum. I've gepostet about 20 times on there, and there are 438 Antworten there. Whenever I feel like chucking the laptop across the room, I go on the forum, find theese 2 users whose Kommentare encourage me a lot and read those.

The other one is gepostet the same way as the previous. To keep myself motivated, sometimes I just write my lead's memories, her past, oder I throw in an action sequence when its not required, which is good for the reader too :)

The third I'm keeping locked away in secret because its NOVEL MATERIAL and I'm having so much trouble writting. It's not that I'm not interested anymore, I'm just having trouble turning everyone against my character. I write on paper at night to get me stimulated for the morning.

The first novel in the series of the Zurück is done. Just need to revise, add something, switch something and Presto, off to the editor it goes! (maybe) I have sent it to a friend Von E-Mail and starred her response, which starts with the Titel "I CAN'T BELIEVE Du R DOING THIS TO ME!!!!" at my cliffending. Her message consists of answering Fragen character wise and preferance wise that I asked and of her telling me my cliff ending was pure evil and that I had to finish book 2 soon. That keeps me motivated.

And usually I Bearbeiten at the very end, oder when I have writter's block. Don't block the flow!

What Du should do is keep a stedy writting project, so what i mean is Du could write in a journal everyday to keep your writting skills up. And Du could also watch alot of fiction movies, oder romance movies. like the Titanic oder avatar. Du could also read Mehr books. Von readin Du can refresh your writting ideas. Lesen also helps with editing. If Du tried all that, try putting on a play in your head, and play it out so many times till Du can get it right. Then write it all down. Du should find a technique that will get Du to write better, even if the technique is as silly as putting on a play in your head. whatever is good for you. i might be comepletley wrong.

Yep it happens to me too :) I think it happens to all writers...
My trick is to imagine what you'd like the scene to be like before Du write, take breaks once in awhile as Du write, and if Du lose inspiration for a story, just leave it for a little while but DON'T forget the story is there. Go back to it a few days later, reread the whole thing, and if Du still have no interest just store it someplace and leave it for another day. Hope I helped :)
