Does anybody know the meaning and country of origin of the name Isa?

Just that a character for a series of short has that as their first name and I just really want to know what it means.

According to link Isa is old English and means "Salvation Von God." However, linkand link both say it's German and means "Strong Willed" and link says Isa is a Muslim name and is the true name of Jesus.

I know, it's confusing. Even the best name site I've been on (Babynames.com), heck they don't even have a definition for it!! I wouldn't want to change it to any name that starts with Isa (Isadora, Isabella etc) especially Isabella, since it's the full first name of Bella schwan in Twilight and me no like her!!! I gave the character the name because of the German definition, shame that little sites have the correct definition!!! So I'll just go Von the most common country of origin and definition. Out of these three, which country and definiton is the most common? And do Du suggest I use the name anyways, oder will it just look silly?

The German deffinition is most common. If Du like the name, and it fits your character I don't think it's silly to use it.

*shrug* I went to goole and typed in "Isa name meaning?" and this is what I got. Nothing about Scottland came up - most of the sites I found sagte it was German. Also, for the record, just because a lot of people have that name doesn't mean it's "traditional." I know twenty people who are Polish with the middle name "Marie" (twenty-one including myself) but "Marie" isn't a traditional Polish name. It didn't even come from Poland at all.
