 That sideburn!
That sideburn!
Okay, since I have covered on both Maria Theresa and Catherine the Great. Here is another take of Queen Victoria and her Austrian counterpart, Emperor Francis Joseph since they have a number of similarities with each other.

Emperor Francis Joseph of Austria-Hungary

Also known as Emperor Franz Joseph in German, he became Emperor of Austria with the help of the Russian Intervention of Hungary on 2nd of December 1848. He married his maternal cousin, Princess Elisabeth of Bavaria. Famously known as Sissi, unfortunately she was unprepared for the Viennese Court.
Sadly, Franz Joseph's life encountered tragic events, like the death of his brother, the Mexican Emperor Maximilian I, the mysterious death of his only son, Crowned Prince Rudolf at Mayerling and the assassination of Empress Elisabeth.
He died in the midst of World War I in 1916, his grand-nephew Charles inherited the throne, which lasted for 2 years leading to the dissolution of the dual monarchy of Austria-Hungary.

Queen Victoria

Like Franz Joseph, her reigns was the longest since 1837 until 1901, when she inherited from her childless uncle, King William IV. She also married her maternal cousin, Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha.
However, unlike Franz Joseph, she became a recluse after the tragic passing of Prince Albert. They also had some arguments behind the scenes regarding their children's life and they forgave each other. They have 9 children in total and their descendants are the current European monarchs, except BENELUX.
Sadly, some of their great-grandchildren were diagnose with hemophilia. In the likes of her grandson Tsarevich Alexei and her son, Prince Leopold, Duke of Albany just to name a few.
During her reigns, the industrial revolution boomed and it was called 'The Victorian Era'.

A Majestic Conclusion

Well, since they had a couple of things in common. Who do Du chose?
Your Majesty, how Du fascinate me.
