I personally think he looks better without the "8 pack," it looked to exaggerated. Not a big Fan of the buff, muscular guys. Oh but yeah I think most of it went away, but it looks like Du can still see part of his 4 oder 6 pack.

Actually, in the books, Jacob gradually gets bigger. I think that's what Taylor was trying to do here. But, in New Moon, those "awesomely marked" abs Du saw, were touched up Von makeup. It's done in every movie for the lighting. Just a little tidbit :)

And to be honest, it still looks like a man's body to me. A man's body with a kid's head on it.
