What I don't understand is how people can compare Edward and Jacob. It is fine to like one and not the other but to trash one( always happens to be Jacob) is a bit extreme. I mean Edward has like 100 years on Jacob. Edward is physically 17 but his mental age is suppose to surpass all of ours. He has the mentality of Bella’s Great Grandpa at that. Jacob is physically 25 ( oder so) and mentally 17. What guys aren't arrogant, specially when they know they look good and are able to beat the S**t out of other people. Come on, that’s an ego booster. That is his personality; If Du give Jacob another 100 years Du will see a definite change in the way he acts. In New Moon he treated Bella like most 17 Jahr olds treat an older girl who they think is cute(pre-werewolf ing.)
If Bella wanted to stay with Jacob, they would be able to grow together like all people do not just physically but mentally. If she stays with Edward, he will, for Tons of years, be higher mentally than her. I think that that is why he treats her like a little girl, because to him she is.
Both Edward and Jacob made mistakes in the way they treated her. So don't just blame Jacob. I think Edward's actions actually Zeigen Mehr about him than Jacob's. He SHOULD know better, he reads peoples minds and knows about peoples relationships in that way. The excuse of him not being with someone else for 100 Jahr is apathetic one specially if it helps to be able to get away with him treating Bella like a possession. I cut Jacob a little slack because like most of US, Yes US, we acted quite stupid when we liked somebody at the age, admit it. If Du are not quite at that age, look at people who are 16-18 who are in a relationship.
If Du are going to compare something between Jacob and Edward is their Liebe towards Bella. Edward's Liebe for Bella is suppose to be something beyond just an obsession, that is how Meyer seems to put it. To me it seems like an obsession. What makes it better for both of them is the fact that they won't be able to be fully together, the is always that separation that part that both of them are unable to get a hold of. The thrill of the chase. It makes me wonder how their Liebe will morph into once/if she gets changed. Jacob's Liebe towards Bella seems Mehr of it being his first big crush. He really didn't know any better, she sent him mixed signals that were already mixed to begin with( since he didn't understand them.) Imagine a 17 Jahr old chick oder guy flirting with Du when Du are 15, Du are going to think highly of them. Then some time later She/he WANTS to spend Most of the time with YOU. Du develop feelings for her/him. Then there’s the bond of knowing Du helped her 'heal' from something as emotional as what Bella was going through. All those emotions perhaps led him to the conclusion that he was in Liebe with her. His thing with Bella is Mehr of him not wanting her to kill herself, because that is what he sees it as. He helped her heal and now she’s going to throw her life away. I think that he is Mehr likely to get over her a lot faster and better than when Bella was trying to get over Edward.



note: I am sure there are other things I haven't taken into account , if Du think I missed something important for either Edward oder Jacob, comment. There are layers upon layers that I missed and chose not to talk to. I just waned to open your minds to something I had been thinking since I put down Eclipse.
