Chapter Five: Attack Me Once, Shame On You, Attack Me Twice . . .
"Okay, this is your first class," He bent down and faced my schedule as if I couldn't figure out the class and time myself. I am not helpless. I'm quite the opposite. "Covert Operations with Mr. Dormant, right this way." I didn't want Darrel to know I was actually enjoying his company so I huffed, kreuz my arms, and followed behind.
My first class was just a basic four Von four room with the stone walls and marble floors. Almost all of the classrooms at Brookhaven Prep. This building was built hundreds of years ago. The stones were still intact because they had a yearly washing. Even though there were vines growing on the holding from the sides, it still held that grand appeal to it. It was surprise about how basic the class rooms were. Since this was Ocvert Operations, there were no schreibtisch oder chairs oder anything. It was just an empty room.
There were thousands of stairwells and passages that could make it easier for a student it get to his oder her classroom. I was very happy about that since my classrooms seem to be farthest away from each other. It was obvious that they would out tricks and traps in the passageways. It helps to challenge the student. That is what my dad had told me on the plane ride here. He knew everything that could be known about Brookhaven Prep. He really did his homework, then again all good spies do.
The kabine I shared with Courtney and Raven wasn't built like the rest of the school. It was mainly on the outskirts of the school. It was made like that so when enemies come, they wouldn't suspect that all the students would be held in those kind if dorms. It was a brilliant plan but could so easily be tampered with. If my dad was here, then surely he could come up with a way to remodel the school without having to loose it's natural qualities. I know it was something he was considering. He was always considering something.
A crazy thought came to my head. If my dad truly knew he was being stalked, then he most have had a way to plan everything out. He could have planned for the plane to crash and plan for someone to find me and drive me to the school. He never did something without a plan. He was a well-organized guy. That would explain for the reason why he wouldn't tell me where we were oder where we were going. Everything was suppose to be hidden from me for my own protection. He underestimated me. I didn't need his protection. I could do anything without anyone's help.
Raven had been completely chilled about Darrell taking me around the school instead of her. She almost seemed excited for me. I would try to analysis her expression but I feared already what it was. The 'L' word. I tried numerous of times to talk her into coming but she sagte no and it was final. It is impossible to argue with spies when you're a spy. All spies are intelligent so it is nearly impossible for Du to win an argument.
"I am not some helpless lamb," I said. I wanted to sound angry with him. It was so hard though. He had wonderful features that would go against all of my rules. Rule One: Never fall in Liebe with anyone. It was a rule I cherished and followed. Through my dad's years of experience, he learned a few things. He learned that Du should never fall in Liebe with anyone because it can bring harm to them, you, and your career. It is a lonely life we spies live.
"You're not some helpless little lamb," he paused. "You're my helpless little lamb." He nudged my shoulder playfully. I giggled which is something we spies never do. I instantly regretted my Zeigen of affection. I had to put my emotions back in check. It was obvious that he didn't follow rules. It was also obvious he wasn't a real spy. No one would handle themselves with that kind of attitude. There was something off about him, something I would probably never see until he exposed it himself. Although, I will never find out about his true self, it didn't mean I couldn't try to find out.
"Show me where I'm suppose to-" Red lights and a piercing siren blared from the speakers. The teachers were already ushering kids out. It was chaotic and it only took Sekunden for everyone to go into panic mode. Since this is a spy school and not some regular boring school, everyone tried to make it as orderly as possible without drawing attention to anyone oder anything. I didn't know who set off the alarm. My impulsive nature automatically had me dashing in the opposite direction of the exit.
"Wait!" shouted Darrell. He wasn't as fast oder as trained as I was but remarkably he was able to stay within 15 feet of me.
The school was Mehr like a maze. There were sharp corners, dark hallways, oder even giant pit holes. I was in the far back of the school. This was off limits to the students. I knew that if someone was going to attack the school they would most likely hide here when things grew chaotic. I reached a dead end. I had to be careful. Dead ends could mean booby traps. I tapped each Wand three times. It was an old spy trick my dad had taught me. To Zeigen that Du are on there side, Du tap three times but Du have to do it a special way. Each sound is different and has a meaning, this is where Du hearing is needed. Bad hearing means Du won't make it in this business.
Darrell had come up from the corner now. He had took one step and already the floor was pcrumbling. A gigantic hole had appeared. He had to step back before he fell through. I could help but the walls were already rumbling. They fell to the ground and a small door stood there. These walls wouldn't stay down for long. I could help oder I could help myself.
"Don't go in there," Darrell warned. "I'm telling you. It won't be pretty."
Number one rule everyone goes by: never tell a spy they can't do something. I went inside and instantly regretted it.
