I remember visiting this website once...
It was called THOR: RAGNAROK Director Ignoring Other THOR Films, His Movie's Totally 80s Feel, Mehr
Here's some stuff I remembered seeing:
Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi took to Reddit for an AMA session in which he revealed numerous tidbits about the currently in production film, including the film's surprising connections to other Marvel properties, the things Marvel wouldn't let him get away with, and Ragnarok's not-so-surprising visual influences.
Waititi kicked things off by responding to a fan who asked if Thor: Ragnarok "would be the
" of Marvel's Phase 3" by joking that he still needed to see
. Waititi later confessed that he does watch and enjoy the Marvel films, citing
as a favorite. He did say, however, that he "made an effort to ignore the fact there are other Thor films," and that Marvel had been very accomodating in allowing him to use his own voice.
One thing he couldn't do despite wanting it, however, was bringing in John C. Reilly's Nova Corpsman Dey into the film, with Waititi saying there was "no real way to pull it off." Waititi did say that another major guest star, Mark Ruffalo's Bruce Banner, would "steal the show." Waititi also said he used new camera technology that had never been used in a Marvel movie to compose a shot that required "a bunch of scientists and mathematicians (nerds) to figure out," though he couldn't say what the shot was. He also said that Marvel had a major hand in crafting Ragnarok's story, which leads directly into the next phase of Marvel movies.
Finally, Waititi said that, like the video game-inspired logo for the film, fans could expect a visual tone "like the 80s," before later clarifying that he's been influenced by fantasy art from the 70s and 80s for the film's visual feel, something he says will be different from any Marvel film to date.
Thor: Ragnarok is currently in production for a November 3, 2017 theatrical release.
