Live, Laugh, Love
The Johnstons are saddened to have caused their good friends, the Upshaws, to be kicked out of the game. Dad Cameron Johnston recalls a plaque above the Upshaws küche door that says “Live, Laugh, Love.” He says that it describes the Upshaws perfectly. Despite their sadness, the Johnstons believe that they made the right decision because the Upshaws were such strong competitors. Meanwhile, the Schindlers celebrate their unexpected presence in the final two.

We Did Nothing Wrong
Back at the Upshaw’s Home after the Neighborhood Meeting in which the Mullennixs were kicked out of the game, the Upshaws rehash their strategy. They say that they care about the Mullennixs, but that they are here to play the game. They don’t feel that the Mullennixs should be angry with them for putting them in danger of leaving. Mehr than ever, the Upshaws feel that they need to win the Weiter challenge, and they are hoping that they will since the other two remaining families, the Schindlers and the Johnstons, haven’t won a challenge yet.

In the aftermath of the Zurück Neighborh­ood­ Meeting, Dad Chris Nelson sits alone at the edge of the massive wall, tearing up as he contends with his feelings of guilt. “I really regretted getting rid of the DeGirolamos because I really miss my good friend, and my neighbor Jeff.” ­ Dad Cameron Johnston approaches him to find out what’s wrong. Chris is choked up, “I need your help because I’m having a rough time.” Chris confides in Cameron that he misses the DeGirolamos and feels bad about his role in their elimination, and Cameron commiserates with him.

A gigantic 20-foot Wand has been constructed in suburban Atlanta, surrounding an entire neighborhood. The eight families who are trapped inside are about to embark on the game of their lives competing for the grand prize of a quarter of a million dollars. The Wand is massive and snakes around the front and back of each family’s home, completely cutting them off from the outside world. They’ve known each other for years, but their closest bonds will be tested when each week they'll have to kick another family out of the game.

A Bit of a Curveball
In the darkness of the night, after another Neighborhood Meeting, the Johnstons return Home feeling lucky to still be in the game after having been put in danger along with the Nelsons. Mom Regina Johnston says, “The game’s gonna be completely different without the Nelsons, and the Upshaws may have done us a favor Von clearly setting aside the friendship, but there’s going to be a little less trust for the Upshaws word. It’s everybody for themselves.”

The Upshaw family returns Home after an intense Neighborhood Meeting, feeling distraught over sending the Bussieres home. Dad Rick Upshaw laments, “We just put out a Grandmother; small kids.” His wife, Therese, and 20-year-old son, Chris Upshaw, remind him that it’s a game and, as a strong family, it’s just as likely that the Bussieres would have come after the Upshaws. Therese states that, with the number of families dwindling, the Upshaws aren’t going to keep any promises that they make except for their pact with the Schindlers.
