Seven days. That’s how many have past since Elena last saw Stefan. He was a mystery to her now when before she felt like there was nothing they could keep from one another. She knew that she had betrayed him, stayed away when the best thing might have been to stay constant. But being with Damon was Mehr fulfilling. She has wronged Stefan but she had done right Von herself.
So, now that Stefan was against her she wasn’t worried that not seeing him meant he didn’t care and wasn’t paying attention. She was now afraid that his absence meant he was putting Mehr effort in whatever plan he had and that he cared very much- as to how he would kill her. The thing that scared her most about not seeing him was that she knew he was around. When she did come back to the house she found that things were not as she left them and everything smelled of him.
Bonnie then put a spell on the Salvator mansion as well as the house so that no vampire but Damon could get in yet Damon still insisted that she stay with him. That took a lot of work with Aunt Jenna. Why would a sane guardian allow Elena to stay somewhere else for so many nights in a row? It was beginning to look permanent so Elena had to face the fact that Jenna needed to be in the loop about where she was really staying and why.
“Aunt Jenna?” Elena asked to get her attention. The young woman was sitting on the couch watching TV. One of the few times that Elena ever saw her taking a break. Most of the time she was in class oder doing something around the house. Not to mention the part-time work she had taken up from home. After all of that, there wasn’t much time for relaxing and Elena felt a twinge of sadness for her. What a weight the last Jahr and a half had been on her.
“Yeah?” Jenna sagte with a slight upturn of her head, still keeping her eyes on the Zeigen she was watching.
“We need to talk.” That sentence alone caught Jenna’s full attention. Elena was always in a Mehr serious mood than most girls her age but when she mentioned having a discussion there was normally a good reason for it and not something so frivolous as most teens would bring up.
“Okay,” Jenna moved over and patted the spot on the couch Weiter to her. “What’s on your mind?”
Elena took a deep breath. This was all going to sound crazy and it was going to be like a slap in the face for her Aunt. She couldn’t ease her into it like she wanted to.
“What I’m about to tell Du will sound insane. Du won’t want to believe it at first and when it starts to sink in, you’re going to feel like you’re drowning in a world that Du don’t understand, a world that I was tossed into without realizing it.”
Jenna’s face only held confusion. “What are Du talking about?”
“Okay, here goes... Vampire exist. So do Werwölfe and any number of other Supernatural things we haven’t come across. Damon and Stefan are both vampires.”
Jenna had the air of concentration but suddenly she cracked an awkward smile. “Elena, I know that things have been rough for a very long time. It’s only natural to create things in your mind to explain real world demons.” She sounded like Jeremy while he was Schreiben his paper for Rick last year.
There was only one thing she could do now. Elena dug her phone out of her pocket without saying a word and called one number, 2 on her speed dial now. It was picked up and all she sagte was “Come over and fast.” then hung up.
“What was that?” Jenna asked.
She had barely gotten out the sentence when Damon came running into the living room. He has super sped over to the house but reverted to normal speed when entering the room. His eyes looked wild and was scanning to room for anything that suggested danger.
“Don’t worry, I just needed Du to prove to Jenna what Du really are. She will never believe me until she sees it. Do something. Anything that will get through to her.” Elena asked of him.
He hesitated for a moment but then looked at Jenna. “Watch as closely as Du can.”
Suddenly he disappeared with Jenna looking around with pure shock. “Behind you.” Damon addressed Jenna. She twisted around as quick as she could and had now jumped to her feet. Damon did this a few Mehr times ending up on the ceiling once oder twice. But what really drove it all Home for her was when Damon changed into his vampire face. The outline of his eyes going into red, veins in his face pulsing to the surface and above all, the teeth that extended.
“Don’t be afraid,” Elena put a hand to Jenna’s shaking shoulder. She was hyperventilating. “He is a friend. One of few.”
Slowly and as gently as possible, Damon and Elena filled her in and explained everything that had happened right under her nose. She couldn’t believe that so much has escaped her detection. Jenna knew that there was a lot of drama in Elena’s life but she figured it was teenage stuff that was coming on a little heavier than normal. Nothing like what they were telling and Wird angezeigt her.
Elena watched the emotions wash over Jenna’s face as she realized that her safe, sicher world, one that she understood, was being stripped away revealing one that was much Mehr frightening and masked. A world that her niece had been dealing with in secret for quite some time now. This, she wasn’t ready for but she would have liked to have been there to help Elena. All this time, when Jenna believed she was protecting her family, one of them was really protecting her.
Jenna had lots of questions. Mostly about past events that hadn’t added up and she wanted explained. She asked about the abilities, the weaknesses, how to defend herself against the newly formed enemy that was Stefan. She was curious about what connection this had to the “animal attacks” and was shocked at almost everything she found out. About Logan Fell, about Vicki and the Salvators, Tyler, everything.
When everything seemed to be addressed, Jenna was very quiet and seemed to be mulling it all over in her mind. She was trying to put things together and except it. Elena knew that this wouldn’t completely sink in for a while. The brain had a hard time accepting things like this. Elena knew this all too well. But at least now everything was out in the open. Now they could make decisions together and Elena could quit lying about everything.
“Uh oh, did sweet Aunt Jenna find out about the monsters that go bump?” The voice floated on the air from the screen door in the kitchen. Beyond stood Katherine who was looking in and most likely over hearing all of it.
Damon instinctively moved in front of the girls and stared Elena’s evil twin down.
“This is the one Du were talking about?” Aunt Jenna asked. Elena nodded. “God, she looked exactly like you. I mean I know Du told me it was her that came in that night so I knew what she looked like but wow.” She was almost talking to herself. Not like her Kommentare were helping any.
Katherine laughed. “You will slip up my sweet Damon and when Du do, I’ll be there. Du can count on that. Be careful, I just might tell your precious council what Du are. I wouldn’t go to them for help if I were you. I would keep my mouth shut and try to keep those I Liebe safe. Though, no matter how hard Du try, I will always win. You’re running out of options, lover. What ever will Du do?” And with that she was gone.
That night, Damon held Elena. He ran his have up and down her back to soothe her and later he made Liebe to her so slow that it drove her mad and made her forget all the hell that surrounded them for at least a while. For a time she was caught up and blissfully distracted...
