Sorry But I had to pick these guys. I couldn't help my self over Damon(the guy on the left to Elena.) I may have liked Twlight if it wasn't so overrated. I'm not saying I hate it but I don't like the fact that everyone is crazy about it. I mean there are better vampire films and books. I like Jasper, Emette, Alice, Rosaline and Carlisle Cullen. I think Edwards ok but I prefer Jasper.

What friendship is there when she just ditches all her friends just to run of and be with edward. Oh and adventure?? I don't think so. What exactly do you mean by adventure. Just running from some vampires then being shagged by one and then jumping in bed with one isn't exactly adventure.

Vampire Diaries is so much better. I'm actually reading them. They are so good. Alot of people think that Vampire Diaries are boring compared to Twilight. Just coz Twilight is in much simpler language. But V.D. has better plot. Steph.M. copied L.J. Smith- author of V.D.
If you read V.D. you'll see how much of Steph.M. has copied.
The characters in V.D. are far more interesting well the main ones anyway. The thing with L.J. is that when she says something she backs it up with something like she tells us why Stefan acts a little weird because of what happened in his past. Whereas Steph.M. don't explain why the hell Bella is so moody and Edward well we kinda find out about him later. x.

HATED the Twilight movie, so I KNOW I'll like the tv show a lot better BUT I actually like the Twilight books (LIKED not OMG!ILOVETHISIT'SSOGREATOMGOMGOMG obsessedy-sessed over it lol) & I DO think it's overrated. But the vampire diaries BOOKS I thought were HORRIBLE and boring, lmao. I didn't even finish them. The Elena and Stefan stuff was terrible & cheesy as heck. yuck. but I did like the Damon & Elena parts that I read.

i love twilight reallly big time cant wait for the new moon .. but that are movies and te series are every week and most series are 45 min long so if i have to pick i would say every week vampire diary ..

I'm so glad most everything here thinks Twilight is overrated. Maybe now with VD popularity, people will start seeing that. Stephanie Meyers basically ripped off a lot of other vampire books (mainly VD) and used them to write Twilight. There are parts of Twilight that are good, but most of it is just awful, poorly written drivel. Sorry, I'm pretty passionate about my hate for Twilight.

Well , both books are fine, but Twilight movie definitely sucks. I mean how hard can it be to find actors who can actually PLAY the character not only READ the script in front of camera??
Vampire diaries show is whole different story :) LOVE Damon character , he is such a badass so fun and playful... i really wouldn't mind to be his TOY .. :p

I don't like Twilight. And it's actually given me a greater respect for shows like True Blood and VD cause they're so obviously better.

Well i love both but i'm really loving The Vampire Diaries at the moment.

I hope people start to go as crazy over Vampire Diaries and they did Twilight, then we will be assured many more seasons to come! I've become attached to too many shows that ended up cancelled after the first season, i.e. Moonlight.

P.S. When anyone refers to Vampire Diaries as VD, all I can think is Venereal Disease. LOL

I accepted the Twilight books for what they were, stupid addicting guilty pleasures about ridiculous teen "romance" which is code for "obsession and possession" in Twilight's case. Now I just hate the entire craze. I read the Vamp Diaries after Twilight and I thought they were much better, though I only read the first two (two books, one binding). Elena and Stefan are still a little ridiculous at times, but at least they have tenderness and sweetness, not just crazy obsession and jealousy. Ex: When Stefan thinks Damon's after her, he treats her like an adult, not a child and does anything he can to protect her and to HELP HER PROTECT HERSELF. Edward just treats Bella like a child and is crazy jealous of Jacob. That's not love. I'd dump Edward in a heartbeat. Crazy jealous stalker.

Oh and seriously, if we're really getting into this, the absolute best supernatural teen series is the Mediator books by Meg Cabot. CHECK THEM OUT. I have the super old beautiful paperbacks when Cabot was still publishing under a pseudonym, Jenny Carroll.

I was a huge fan of Twilight and I hated Vampire Diaries because it sounded like they were imatating Twilight. Then one day I came across the show and I started watching then I MEMERIZED I coldn't look away it was so interesting and dramatic. So now I love them both. Twilight and Vampire Diaries Rock!!!!!!

I like the Twilight books more. While reading the Saga, I felt a strong need to start the next book as soon as possible, and waiting drove me insane. The Vampire Diaries first book was okay, but I felt no pull to read the next one like with the Twilight books. Therefore, I haven't. The same thing happened with Evermore. I'm looking for another series that will pull me in and leave me craving more, not like 'well that was good, but I'm in no hurry to read the others'.

I was a twilight fan but then I started to watch VD and it turned. After having seen all of the episodes I went out adn bought the books. I read all of the five books in 5 days and then I was just empty. Now I'm reading the books and watching the spisodes over and over againwhile i'm waiting for the next season! but Vampire Diaries all the way!!!!!

Some people said that The Vampire Diaries was imitation of Twilight. TVD was written before Twilght existed. I like Twilight, but I would perfer TVD. TVD has Drama,Love,and Mystery.Twilight is nothing but a vampire family and a human.
