deluv Excellent article. I agree with everything you said. One more reason they say that Bamon is more realistic cuz Damon used Caroline for sex. Attacked Bonnie and Kolled Jeremy. Now excuse me but all these arguements could be used against Bamon as well. Cuz Caroline is Bonnie's bff, and well Damon did attack Bonnie and if it wasn't for Stefan she'd be dead amd also Jeremy os Bonnie's bf. So Bamon fans before you bring up such reasons think deep. Tbh...i don't see any sense in Bamon cuz I think Damon is too much for Bonnie. Damon needs someone who can handle him EMOTIONALLY and not PHYSICALLY. And that's Elena. She's patient with him cuz she understands him unlike Bonnie who thinks Damon is a monster sent from hell.,Also one more proof that Bonnie doesn't understand Damon, when he does something good she says "you can't fool me Damon, you're bad and will never change etc etc" See how she doesn't understand Damon. That Damon struggles and he's trying to make progress..she never has appreciated Damon

jereimy OK, the article is good and you defend your point of view but the reason number one for me it is more interesting to watch a witch/vampire relationship because it would be interesting and unique, elena is not rare and she is not strange, she is so normal that sometimes she is boring, now the triangle is too much, now in all series there is a triangle between one woman and two men ( lost, eclipse, true blood, gossip girl, etc...) so there is nothing special between damon-elena-stefan, it is the most common history in the world. It is not a shallow reason, delena fans like delena because their chemistry on screen ( shallow reason) because nian and because damon and nina are both beautiful people ( shallow reason) I know this is not the main reason but it is one of the reason why delena fans like it, so bamon fans can like it also because it will be a strange and unexpected relationship. About beremy, I dont like at all, jeremy is too child for Bonnie, and I dont like it, she deserves better even with elijah she will be better that with jeremy, beremy is only a consolation for us Bonnie fans, but nothing more. 2.This is a huge reason for bamon fans, because their connection in the books, it is amazing and bamon fans hope that we can see something in the show, that it's a big possibility and the fact that Bonnie is different from the books make her more interesting( in the books she is too child but sweet, elena in the books it's awful) 3.They really hate each other when season 2 began, now they had an understanding for elena. I can see a friendship between them for now, obviously there is not love, but, the hate-friendship-love relationship it is good to see, with elena I dont see these kind of relationship because elena never hates damon, she only get upset with him but she forgive him so easily, that it is not a real and good hate-love relationship besides Damon always feel attracted with elena ( because katherine) so he never hate her or something like that, there is more spark and flames in bamon than delena ( well when is about love and hate relationship)

Leytonfan4ever AGREE with everything! Especially reason number 1! Although, I will say that I've never seen a vampire/witch pairing before, and I don't mind adding it to my ship list (Human/Human, Vamp/Human, Wolf/Human, Wolf/Vamp.. etc), but Bamon are just NOT that couple for me. Nope. Sorry. I don't see it working at all. And I don't see anything special that would make me like them.

Realist1 I will start off by saying it is a well written article and you obviously put some thought into it and as you said, I too, am not here to offend, but I can't help but feel slightly offended by what you wrote, because I don't see why you have to "enlighten certain individuals" by stating the negatives about the possibilities of why people ship them. Anyway, I would never convert from my ship, regardless of what is being said and I can only presume, why other BD fans haven't responded to this article, firstly because, it could possibly start another ship war, as well as why should they keep on defending the reasons why they ship Bamon. It's just a case of, if you didn't understand it then and you don't understand it now, then you'll never understand it. 1. Because they're unique - A witch and a vampire have never been done before: To this I will tell you, no, this is not the reason why I ship Bamon, but it does add an interesting dynamic, as it will make them unique. The powerful witch and a powerful over protective vampire, would make for a very powerful couple. They would be a force to be reckoned with. I see what your saying about Elena as a doppleganger and that is unique, but I still see her as human and that is what she is. That is not extroadinary to me, because, she is just a twin who was born a couple hundred years after the other and it's only her blood at the moment that is important. Either way I prefer the dynamic of the witch and vampire, but as I said, this is not the reason why I ship them. 2. Because of their 'connection' in the books: Yes, they do have a connection in the books, but this again is not why I ship them and that is because Bonnie is so different from her book counterpart, but that doesn't mean it would not work. Why would it not transfer and that is the bit I did not understand, as Elena is also very different from her book counterpart. So, if they can make Elena different and still pair her with these two vampires, well what makes Bonnie so different. You seem to forget that Bonnie and Damon's relationship is changing. In season 1, Bonnie did not want to know Damon and in season 2, they were working together more closely, yes she tolerated him as it was to help save Elena, but they are becoming closer, because of this. So they are like frenemies at the moment. Also, I think he has more respect for her than he does Caroline. The way I see it, is that it is a show and anything is possible. 3. Because of their 'love-hate' relationship: I too can like these relationships and you are right, Damon is more indifferent, whereas Bonnie just hates him, though I don't think she hates him as much, as before. Now I like their relationship, because they make me laugh and I just personally think their chemisty is off the charts. They antagonise each other and Bonnie doesn't take any rubbish and gives it right back. The bottom line is that they both don't take any crap and Bonnie wouldn't be afraid to call him out on any of his. Obviously a relationship isn't built on this, but what i'm saying is that they are frenemies at the moment and believe that their relationship will keep on growing past this, into a mutual respect for one another and more. They will be hanging out more together in efforts to help save Elena and they have already become closer, because of this. So they should not be counted out. 4. Because Bonnie could control him with her powers: This is not a reason to like a pairing of any sorts, but if people do, then that is their prerogative. So you got my answer to that one, but I will say that in the beginning they were enemies of some sorts, even though they fought for the same cause. As much as I like this pairing, I would not want anything to happen between them now, as it would not be realistic to me, but you got to remember, in the show Bonnie hated Damon and he threatened people and the town she lives in and she was willing to protect all of that. So I don't blame her for doing what she has done to him, as he threatened all of that. I believe that Damon will grow to respect this about her, if he hasn't already, not the lighting his butt on fire bit, but how far she is willing to go to protect the people she cares about. For instance, she went up against Klaus/Alaric, knowing that there was a huge possibility she was going to die and this is what I believe that Damon realised about her, after the battle with Klaus/Alaric and that is how far she was prepared to go to save her friend. Damon's personaliy doesn't has to change, but it is the way he goes about things that he will have to change. You say he isn't a homicidal maniac around Elena, but what about the rest of the time. Damon would need to change this action full stop, to be with either Elena or Bonnie. 5. Because Damon wouldn't have to be an 'emo whipped coward' around Bonnie: I wouldn't want Damon to change either, only the homicidal killer part, but I believe that Damon will grow away from this. So no, I don't want him to revert back to how he was in S1, because it would go against Bonnie's character. This does not mean his personality has to change, just him being a killer would. As I said before he would need to stop killing like that to be with either Bonnie or Elena. I disagree with the fact that you think Bonnie helped him kill, because Bonnie only helped to get Mason to get information and then went about her business. Damon done that to Mason, all by himself, plus, Jeremy was there. Did he also have a hand in killing Mason? Wasn't Jeremy the one who told Damon about the wolfsbane? If Bonnie stayed and knew what Damon was going to do, Bonnie would not be up for it. You said it your self that would go against her character. Damon puts on a facade with everyone and in S2 now, he has not just let in Stefan, Elena, Rose and Andie, but he has also let in Alaric, as well and we also see his facade drop with Bonnie, before she goes off to face Klaus/Alaric. Now i'm not saying his defenses is always down with Bonnie, but he has his moments and that to me shows progress. You can say these reasons make no sense for shipping Bamon, but anyone can come up with reasons that make no sense for people to ship Delena or any other ship. What might not make sense to you, might make sense to others, but if any of your points is a reason that someone might ship Bamon, it shouldn't matter, just as long as they are happy shipping their ship. What I don't understand is why does it mean so much to others, why we ship Bamon.

EllaEnchanted You wouldn't have written down & discussed these points either if they were not previously mentioned at some point by some Bamon fans. You should be proud of this article.

Realist1 ^ are you referring to my article or the original poster. Anyway, the points I've made was in reference to what the poster wrote, not what other DB fans has said, as I'm writing from my perspective, not other DB's fans pov, as I can't answer for others. I've even put my points down for things I haven't even discussed/heard being discussed or heard of before. I think this is the longest article I have ever written and I don't want to do it again, but I'm glad others can see my perspective and hopefully respect my pov. I just think, if people ship couples for what ever reason, it is their choice. I don't know why some can get worked up over shipping preferences, when it's all based around the same show. It is not a competition. So, picking out people's comments, just to ridicule it, can be ignorant, as we could do that for any ship. It just makes their argument/discussion void and doesn't get anyone anywhere. This bit is just for the posters who may or may not know that their points can start an argument. I don't mind debating at all, but I'm not here for an argument, just to give my opinion.

I respect all peoples opinions including yours & I am a firm believer in people can ship whom ever they please that is their choice nobody else's I don't have a problem with that at all : )

Everyone is putting Damon and Bonnie together because of the books even though the show is way different. Everyone is also putting Stefan and Caroline together.. for no reason. She isnt even in the books, so that, like why people like Bamon and Steroline, i do not understand!

Epicurean I started reading the books... didn't make it very far. HATED them. I'm actually glad the show is different. Book Elena sucks. D: So I don't know anything about Book Bonnie and Book Damon's relationship. :x But I really don't think anything from the books is transferable to the show. Since they ARE different (thankfully).
