The national touring company production of "The Phantom of the Opera" is here until Sunday, Aug. 22. The well liked and long-running musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber has performances at 8 p.m. Tuesdays-Fridays, 2 and 8 p.m. Saturdays, and 1 and 6:30 p.m. Sundays. The show is at Allen Theatre, Playhouse Square, Cleveland. Northeast Ohio fans of Andrew Lloyd Webber are the "The Phantom of the Opera" will have a final chance to see the national touring production in the Allen Theatre at Playhouse Square. Yet those who have seen it before may want to consider catching this performance, this is the third time everyone seen Lloyd Webber's musical, based on the novel by Gaston Leroux, and this was the best ever seen it done. The story is famous a disfigured man, known as the "opera ghost" or "the phantom" lurks in the catacombs of the Paris opera house. He falls in love with Christine Daae, a young chorus girl, teaches her to sing. During her debut performance, one of the viewer’s members is childhood friend Raoul, Vicomte de Chagny, who also falls in love with Christine. The young soprano finally must choose between the two.
Lloyd Webber's "Phantom" is known for its amazing special effects, the lighting, the sets, the costumes and the memorable music. The complaint with the previous production was that sometimes the characters mostly the role of Christine, came off as a bit flat. This cast brings more depth to the roles, more life. The Phantom of the Opera" runs through Aug. 22. Performances are Tuesday during Sunday evenings at 8 p.m., with matinees Saturdays and Sun days at 2 p.m. The opera ghost will haunt ANTIC's stage in the theater's production of "Phantom of the Opera." The drama is from an adaptation by Dirk Kuiper based on the novel by Gaston Leroux. Whereas not the popular musical version, fans of the musical will find a recognizable story with many of the same characters. Performance dates are Friday and Saturday Aug. 6, 7, 13, 14, 20 and 21. All shows are at 8 p.m. at the Newell Theatre, on the 3rd Floor of the Quirk Cultural Center, 1201 Grant Ave. in Cuyahoga Falls.

The Phantom of the Opera is presented by arrangement with The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, Pittsburgh Symphony and Broadway Across America and is part of the PNC Broadway Across America-Pittsburgh series. The producers of The Phantom of the Opera announced earlier this year that the Third National Tour will close this fall in Los Angeles after a highly successful run of over 17 years.
