Well, happy endings are sometimes boring. I think the good side will certainly win, but there must be sacrifactions. Remember how many deaths there were in TLO?

Guys, check link out. This is what R.R said about the new series: “Really, it’s a balancing act between wanting Percy Jackson to have a strong ending, and acknowledging that there are a lot of fans out there who weren’t ready to say to goodbye to that world.” That means he did have an intention to kill Percy or something like that at the end of TLO, but then he thought about the readers' reaction and that's why he made the second series.

He could die, but we don't know that yet. What if R.R. was going to in TLO, (though he doesn't) then decided why not in the spin off? Then he doesn't and kills off a different character that was important in the last series. That was random :) Anyways, I don't think he's gonna die, but there is a slight chance, if you think about what R.R. said.

Gods I don't want Egypt and Greek mythology to clash. Nuh-uh! But you know what's got em all "uh oh"? In the Kane chronicles, a character said "Manhattan has their own pronlems, their own gods". Hum, what gods live on top of Manhattan buildings?

Yeah, demigods die young. Sad endings make me cry, but happy fairy tale endings are only for kids.

anyway Percy will probably just have a life set up for him at the end of this book/series where he goes on to live a great life. if he dies Rick will probably have to worry about HUGE amounts of fans leaving his fan base since Percy is unanimously agreed to be awesome

Well, Harry Potter is unanimously agreed to be awesome too, but before the Deathly Hallows was published, many fans wanted him to die. I know it's sad and a bit cruel, but a sad ending is usually much more attractive than a fairy tale ending.

If Percy dies, I will personally deliver hate mail to Rick Riordan. And that hate mail will include several punches to the faces and kicks to the balls.

Look, the fact is, I'm a fan of this series, and I am a huge fan of Rick Riordan. I have been following PJO since it first came out, and therefore have been rooting for both Percy and Percabeth for around five years. I can't even tell you how excited I was for pages 373-375 of TLO. Well, maybe if you take a look at the Percy Jackson and the Olympian's spot you can see.

If Rick Riordan kills Percy, I will be very angry. Not going to lie. Rick Riordan will have built this amazing, lovable, funny character that we have been rooting for through the years and then goes and kills him off? Does that sit right with you? Maybe this is weird, but Percy is just so /real/ to me. And if he dies, I will probably sob and throw the book at the wall and sob some more and scream at random people and then go with percyandpotter to Rick Riordan. Because that doesn't sit right with me.

well he wont die because remember in book 5 when he looked in to the fates eye and sees his whole life until he is an old man. that was what was going to happen. what ever the fates do they cant change it.

Personally I agree with Lightning98, he will live. Unless they lie and showed him his evil twin's life then he WON'T DIE. Probably. And don't be rude, Mr. Riordan got you into HIS series so don't say you will do mean things to him, because WITHOUT him you wouldn't have experienced the wonderful PJO and HoO series AT ALL! So I'd be going up to him and saying, "YOU ARE AWESOME! OM MY GOSH! YOU ARE THE BEST MYTHOLOGY WRITER SINCE HOMER AND THE ILLAID! I AM NOT WORTHY!"

So don't be disrespectful, he is the one who got you to know Percy and without him *gasp* you wouldn't even know a Percy and Annabeth (and Nico, and Thalia, AND LEO!) even existed. So please, be respectful.

I'm not sure if anyone else remembers this but in one of the books I think Posiden said to Percy something like that If Percy survived to manhood then he would have to do something terrible and great and that he would not have Percy die before his time. That would mean that Percy couldn't die until he was an adult plus the fate thing means that he probally wouldn't die. Also (This might not have anything to do with this or it might) when Percy first met Chiron and was recieving his first quest Chiron was saying sometching about how some old prophecies from before was starting to make sense. This could be related to Percy's future but it may just be nothing.

It's a possibility. I think Posiedon didn't litterly mean manhood, just when Percy turned sixteen. But hey, who knows? I like your theories though. I'll probably start sobbing if Percy dies. I cry when sad things happen in any book really and if Percy dies...well, here comes the waterworks.

RR has worked to hard to make Percy come to life he's not going to then say "well good-bye" and kill him forever...he may have one of those epic moments where you think he's dead but still i doubt it

If Percy dies I am burning the book he dies i so i can beleive it never happened. I dont care if happy endings are corny, that doesn't mean you can just kill off the main character!! There are OTHER WAYS to not have a corny ending!!! but if Annabeth dies, it would be just as bad... Percabeth <3

So to the main topic: I don't think Percy will die. He's the subject of an entire series. There is NO WAY he's dying. Cuz then RR will get an uproar of fans on his blog, on his site, heck, outside his front door! It's just not done. Totally not his style.

Percy starts dying at the end of MoA and you're unsure of whether he's going to live or not. Like, RR hints that he's taking his last breath, bringing more screaming and hysterical fans, and bringing more people who would buy the book, dying to see what happened to their beloved Percy. So he might do it, and then twist it around do you got worked up for nothing.
That'd be funny. Not to see Percy die, but the reaction of the fans. :D and then you find out its all good. :D

I don't think so. Rick can be cruel (making us realize we like Luke, then killing him, for example-- or maybe that was just me), but not so cruel as to kill off Percy. He created Percy for his son, if you guys remember, and I don't think Haley would let him kill the boy who started off as his bedtime story hero.

Also, in Last Olympian, after Luke's dead and Percy is with the Fates, he sees his life flash before him, and he said he saw himself as 20, then older and older. I don't think it was an illusion, I think it means he'll live a good long life.

I think Rick knows that if he killed Percy he'd have to deal with the wrath of fans world wide. Plus, in The Last Olympian, Percy looked at the Fates and saw his future, which included him dieing at an old age.

you silly people he is still one of the main characters so no he is not going to be killed it wouldn't be the same without him because most people are either reading this book because of percy percabeth they love reading so that would make him lose readers

If he does, I would be excited. *Holds out hands* WHOA. Don't kill me yet! I would feel very happy about the angst about Percy dying, and the bitter sweetness of him maybe saying goodbye to his friends, the other character's reaction, and the gods' reaction (I ship Percy with Hermes and Apollo).

But I would WANT HIM TO BE REVIVED. Like, cheat death in some way...maybe as the reward to a quest, other heroes will wish him back? In the meantime, Percy would explore the afterlife or something or other.
