Everyone crowded into the school auditorium, as there were excited murmurs.

Connor and Travis grinned at each other—they were going first to audition, and they had the perfect song choice.

They bounded up the stage, and everyone shushed; the room was silent.

Everyone groaned.

“We will be singing a duet!”

“It better not be Justin Bieber!” Someone called out from the crowd.

“Shut up, Travis! Leo, hit the music! I think you know which one we’ll be doing!”

Everyone was up on their feet, cheering, while random monkeys were arriving.

“Whooa, what’s up with those monkeys?!” Leo asked, his pants catching on fire again.

“Dude, do your pants always catch on fire? You’re gonna break the smoke alarm system!” Travis shouted at him.

“Yeah! And the monkeys are from this song’s music video, any living being on Earth would know that, bro!”

“LEO, SHUT UP!” Piper yelled, smacking him on the head. Leo’s pants just caught on fire even more.

“I got this, guys.” Percy said, making the sprinklers go off in the auditorium, not only dousing Leo, but everyone in the room, too.

“Aww, Percy, your water ruined my new pants!” Leo wailed, while Piper smacked him on the head again.

Post up drew singing beiber for the audition, but I'd try cut it short because of how AWFUL and girlish Beiber is.

(BTW random thing, at my school camp last year, we had a random blackout in the middle of an indoor activity, so we were blind singing in the dark (so no one would see who's voice sucked) school songs, until a group of deluded Beaver fangirls start singing 'Baby.' I wanted to die, right then and there. HEAPS of people groaned and moaned but it caught on and THAT was the moment I truly wished to teleport somewhere far away or lose my ability to hear. They put in the school newspaper when we got back that 'we sung school songs and Justin Beiber songs!" and that made a HORRIBLE impression of our year level.)

The next day, the auditions were still going on.
Piper had been pleased when Drew failed her audition.
It’s not that her voice was bad, she was so “involved” with the song, she fell off the stage.
She was the laughingstock of the whole school.
Piper crossed her fingers that she would get eaten by the harpies at the end of the year.
As Piper found out, she didn’t need to audition.
Well, she did, but Mr.D just listened to about 10 seconds of her song and said “Major Role to be displayed next month.”
She walked away grinning.
Everyone was talking excitedly for the next audition.
Percy and Annabeth.
Piper didn’t know whether to be excited or worried.
Annabeth had a beautiful voice, but Percy....?
No one had ever heard him sing, so this could be pretty interesting.
Leo was okay...but he sounded better with his autotune microphone....
Mr.D quieted everyone.
Percy and Annabeth stepped on stage.

Everyone congratulated them, and Leo asked;
“Dude! Where in the world did you learn moves like that?”
He smiled and said “I followed my inner high school musical.”
Leo stood there stunned, and then asked “Your kidding right? So when do I get to meet Mr. McJagger?”

The crowd was still cheering from Percy and Annabeth’s duet of “Moves Like Jagger.” Jason had to admit, it was pretty good. But Percy wasn’t the only one who would let out his “inner high school musical” and sing pretty well.

Jason stood up, pumping his fists while the crowd went wild. He had a great song choice, with rapping and all that; it would go perfectly.

He sauntered to the stage, confidently picking up the microphone.

“Hey, guys! Jason Grace here!”

“I think we know who you guys are, Jason!” Leo shouted from the crowd.

“I know that, Passion Pants, I was just introducing myself to the crowd.”

“HAHA I have a new nickname now!”

“Err, yeah… Well, Connor, Travis, you know which song!”

“Kks, Lightning Boy!”

“Don’t call me that!”

“Kks, Lightning Boy!”

Jason rolled his eyes, tapping his foot, waiting for them to get the song on the stereo.

“Hey, Lightning Boy, I didn’t know you can sing!” Leo said.

Jason smiled mysteriously. “You can see for yourself, Passion Pants. Oh, and I’m changing the song a little bit, just to go along with what I want and my sense of humor.”

“What sense of humor?”

Jason ignored that part.

The music was starting, and everyone was anticipating Jason Grace’s singing.

He could be the new Zac Efron with his hair. If he had the singing, then pat down they would call him the “new Zac.”

Jason just rolled his eyes; he had finished singing, and now he was the “new Zac Efron.” Hey, maybe he’d get a stunt role?

The rehearsals continued throughout the week, and finally Mr.D asked all those who auditioned (so basically the whole school) to come to the first meeting after school.
He asked all the girls to line up, and sit in specific spots on the dusty stage.
Chiron, the vice principal, gave them the sheet music, and sat back in his wheelchair to watch the show.
Piper and Annabeth, and Hazel, (she had done an older 1930’s song that no one liked, so we didn’t include it because no one cared, but her voice was nice so she got in) were leading in their song. There was also a bunch of girls, including Drew, who would be their backup singers.
“Good licks.” Percy said to her.
“What? What are you telling me to lick? I don’t need to lick ANYTHING.”
“Sorry, I meant luck.”
“I don’t need that either. I just hope I sing the song right.”
“Eh, don’t worry. The boys are next, so we’ll be the sad bunch of losers out of key.”
Annabeth rolled her eyes as she walked onto the stage with everybody else.

As Piper, Annabeth, and Hazel, got into their positions, Mr.D yelled “And Pineapple!” for no apparent reason, so they took that as their cue to start.

Some disco music started playing, and everybody in the audience groaned.
They stopped once the three started singing.

All the guys groaned, and Percy yelled “That’s if we show up!”
Jason kicked him in the shins responding “I’d like to NOT get eaten before I graduate, how about you?”
“I think I’d rather be eaten.”
