Lenore has a working-class background and is a financial genius. Henry is a financial advisor who has done very well for himself — thanks, in large part, to Lenore’s help in expanding their family’s private investment firm — and who is adored by many. The family enjoys something of a celebrity status in Chicago.

The new series — debuting in February 2017 on CBS, before moving exclusively to the network’s streaming service CBS All Access — picks up one year after the events of the

finale. An enormous financial scam has destroyed the reputation of Leslie’s Maia, while simultaneously wiping out Diane’s savings. Forced out of Lockhart & Lee, Diane and Maia join Lucca Quinn (the returning Cush Jumbo) at one of Chicago’s pre-eminent law firms.

In addition, executive producer Brooke Kennedy will direct the spinoff’s premiere.

Does it seem to anyone else that this was almost a way to get rid of Julianna M without firing her or causing controversy because of rumors of her backstage dramatics? And how much longer until Kalinda is brought back now that we can retire the green screen?
