Malik

Malik, an Arctic subspecies of the gray wolf, was born May 8, 2000 and is a brother to Shadow. Malik is very curious wolf that shows little intimidation with strangers. He's described as easy-going Von the wolf care staff and can be easily distracted Von just about anything. Malik was placed in the Retired Pack in November 2009.

For each wolf, Du will see a weekly photo, notes on behavior oder physical health and a video clip. Please note, due to the large file size of the video clips, they will only be archived for 30 days.

Transformation into Wölfe is a favourite subject of Irish legend, and many a wild tale is told Von the peasants round the turf feuer in the winter nights of strange adventures with wolves. Stories that had come down to them from their forefathers in the old times long ago; for there are no Wölfe existing now in Ireland.

A young farmer, named Connor, once missed two fine cows from his herd, and no tale oder tidings could be heard of them anywhere. So he thought he would set out on a Suchen throughout the country; and he took a stout blackthorn stick in his hand, and went his way. All Tag he travelled...

Grizzer

Grizzer, a Great Plains subspecies of the gray wolf, was born on May 5, 2004. He is a littermate to Maya and has matured into a strong and big (120+ lb)... adult male. He was removed from the Exhibit Pack in March 2011 after the tragic loss of his littermate, Maya. It was determined that Grizzer had been losing confidence in his status and without the dominance of his littermate, he couldn't compete with the younger packmates. Grizzer is retired, but not currently living with the other retired wolves, Shadow and Malik. During the summer of 2011, an alternate enclosure is being planned...
