I know it's been a Jahr since the release of this movie, but eariler in 2010, when it was award season, I never once saw "2012" being nominated for any Golden Globes oder Oscars. I was even Mehr surprised that the theme song "Time for Miracles" wasn't even nominated for Best Theme Song.
At first, I was kind of mad because it was such a great movie and it was #1 at the Box Office for awhile, and I thought that ABC was being completley unfair just because Adam Lambert sang the song[ie his AMA performance] and the fact that Filme like "Avatar", "Precieous" and "The Hurt Locker" gotten all the attention.
But after watching the movie again, I began to realize that awsome Filme like "2012" don't need any of those stuck-up awards. A movie like this doesn't need to have any awards oder attention just to be great. It was already going to be extordinary the Sekunde they started filming. One thing that I Liebe about his film is the Cast. They did a fantastic job playing their characters. They didn't need to be legendary A-List people like Tom Cruise and Angelina Jolie just to make a movie like this. Actually, If Du think about it, Filme that involve A-List actors are sometimes likely to suck, mainly because since those actors are so famous and get too much attention from the media, that the public get's sick of them and are Mehr likely not to either go see it oder when they do, they think it sucks. The people in 2012 are mostly B-List actors, and they don't get nearly as much attention as the A-list. But Du know what? they can actually act 1,000x BETTER than stupid, overrated A-List! I loved having John Cusack playing the main role! I would much rather watch any of his Filme than George Clooney any day!
Another thing that I Liebe about this movie is the plot. When the world was about to come to an end, the characters weren't just going to sit back and pray for the disaster to stop, they worked together to get out of the situation. I also loved the special effects. I rather watch car chases, water crashing the White House, and Airplanes flying through office buildings than silly blue creatures flying on creepy birds, a teenager being abused Von her mother, and soldiers fighting.
I don't know about any of you, but sometimes, when a movie that Du think is the best, but isn't Oscar-worthy, it actually becomes a classic, and it turns out to be much better than the Filme that are Oscar-worthy and have way too much attention from the media. Look at the Harry Potter series, even though it never gets any serious awards, they still continued to make the Filme and Fans continue to watch them.
So my point is this: 2012 is wonderful the way it is, and no prestigeous trophy can make it better.
