Need help with lyrics!

In the song Liebe Story, there's a part that goes

"...Coz Du were Romeo I was a scarlet letter
My daddy sagte stay away from Juliet..."

Can anyone explain the "scarlet letter" part?

wishes to allude to the woman who have foreign love. In 'Romeo and Juliet' her parents wanted her to marry Paris but Juliet fell in Liebe with Romeo, so Juliet was a scralet letter.

Thanks for clearing that up...I sort of had an idea like that (from the book The Scarlet Letter Von Nathaniel Hawthorne) but I wasn't sure.

back in the time period where the video is set not Sure what the name of it is but any way if Du chaeted on your husband oder betrayrd Du family then they would make Du waer a scarlet letter so eveyone new what Du had done and so Du would not do it agian. and the song Liebe story is about a girls who's parents dont like her boyfriend hence the scarlet letter mataphor. ( she betrays her parents to be with him until her dad comes around)
