I saw the Broadway Revival in 2006. It was breathtaking. I immediately bought the soundtrack and learned all the words, and as a major Sweeney fan let me say- I definitely approve of the movie!

i have seen a couple productions. one better than the other, but overall amazing! the talent that stage Sweeneys have is awesome! lol altho i LOVE JD as Sweeney xD hes the better looking one. haha

Well kinda, I've watched parts of the one which Angela Lansbury was in but that was just on youtube. From the parts I have seen I think that Angela gave an amazing performance!

No, not live. I've seen the musical online, on youtube, the one from 1979. But, when that performed I was like -16, so it would have been funny if had seen it :).
Also I did not see the dutch version of Sweeney Todd, wich isn't suprising neither, I was -3 back that time :). So bad they didn't like did a new version here in the Netherlands... And I will only come once in London... So poor bad, I will never see Sweeney Todd performing live :).

I think the movie is better, in the movie we have Depp, Rickman and Carter and it is directed by TIM BURTON!

I just recently saw another stage production of Sweeney Todd. It was really good! They did the full version of the musical (including Mea Culpa and both parts to The Contest). They also did some things that I haven't seen done in Sweeney productions very much. They used the Bedlam Asylum people as the main ensemble and there was a lot of choreography going on, it was really great!
