Sam is the bad demon boy. Dean only wants what's best for Sam. So, overall Sam is the bad boy, Dean is the good boy.

Dean's good at putting up the 'bad boy' front but when it comes down to it, he's definitely the good boy. He's always been family-oriented and towards the later seasons he's been the steady moral compass of the show.

On the surface, Sam appears to be the 'good boy' but from the beginning he's been the rebel who's gone his own way, done his own thing. He also has deep-seated anger issues that really surfaced in later seasons. He's gone to some really dark places.

What about...why do bad things happen to good, kind-hearted people? :) From the beginning, Sam is all of it, abused, victim, shoved, violated!!! Inside of him he was being torn apart, but what’s on the surface and appears to be ALL THE TIME is a big, good heart that has nothing to do with his demon blood or his attitude! Even his final supreme sacrifice to save his brother and the whole world was proof more that his heart was on the right place TO THE END!!!! Or what about...heroes take too much blame, anti-heroes take none:)

Dean is just acting like a bad boy but he really is the good one. Sam is the bad one coz he has demon blood,

@Soussanah, I think you're misunderstanding the term 'bad boy'. It's not necessarily a bad thing. And most bad boys do have a tortured past, much like Sam's.
Typical characteristics of a 'bad boy': rebellious behaviour, anger management issues, daddy issues, reckless decisions, independence, tendency to walk on the 'dark' side.

Being a hero and being a bad boy are most definitely not mutually exclusive. You can have both positive and negative qualities [which every good character has]. Also, many fictional bad boys find redemption through sacrificial acts.

Dean also fits the characteristics of a bad boy, but on a more superficial level than Sam: womanizing, macho devil-may-care attitude, cool car, leather jacket.

No fanfly, there is no misunderstanding on my side. I've never written one word regarding “bad boy” neither mention why it is or isn‘t a “bad thing” ? You were talking about Dean who is, behind his “mask”, definitely the good boy and the moral compass of the show. I didn’t agree with what you said about Sam, but i didn’t complain. I simply gave you the true meaning of Sam, behind his curse, his addiction and demon blood attitude, biggest heart of the show, what’s truly appears on the surface and deep down. That makes him good enough for me!

What’s really misunderstanding here is the Sam being ultimate “bad one” because he has demon blood? What could be a true misunderstanding is a list of typical characteristics of a “bad boy” you posted for me. These are all characteristics that address each of us and influence our life in unexpected ways. Independence, or rebel who's gone his own way...what happened to making your own destiny, choosing your own path? Anger, reckless decisions, tendency to walk on the 'dark' side...does it make us all “bad boys/girls” than? I’m going too deep. My point is - under the right or wrong circumstances we are all capable of committing “demon blood” acts. Sam can’t be “definitely good” or “ definitely bad” boy. Same with Dean. Same with all of us.

^Ok...I didn't mean to make you feel like I was arguing, I was just trying to explain why I don't think labeling Sam as a bad boy is a negative thing. Which seemed to be your interpretation. Most of my favourite characters are bad boys.

No, you didn't make me feel that way. Arguing would be pointless anyway. I respect your strong opinion expression. And if i feel a sense of conversion to your side of the story, i will accept the challenge to develop and share my opinion. We have different perspectives, but in order to have perspective you need an opinion and in order to have an opinion you need to have perspective. That's pretty much it:)
