In Spider-Man 3, should it have been Peter that gets killed instead?

I think it would have made him Mehr heroic if he sacrificed himself to save Harry and MJ and the rest of NY. What do Du guys think?

I figure it takes a lot for even a superhero to forgive the enemy, and Spider-man knew this. A suprehero protects life instead of taking it away, and that's the responsibility Uncle Ben told Peter about. Forgiveness is the core of every hero's values, and that's what Spidewr-man did with Sandman in Spider-man 3.
