Chibi is an abridged version of tiny in Japanese. Chao are small after all.

So, Sonic is about 100 cm feet tall, which is about 3.28 ft. A chao, including the Emote Orb (I honestly don't know what it's called) should be about half Sonic's height. So, 100/2=50.

Basically, Chao are about 50 cm high, which is about 1.64 ft tall. That is about half of the average human male height, which is about 176 cm (or 5.4 ft).

Okay, so I kind of went all-out on that one. Sorry for all the blabering; just felt like proving my point as to why I would call the chao Chibi... don't hurt me! XD
