Because of the graphics...yes.

In the cg cutscenes of his game he really does(they looked good enough to be a movie in my opinion), but in Sonic X he doesn't and the other cutscenes in his game were crap.

Normal cutscenes in his game looked shit. The cgi cutscenes made him look so damn real! Sonic X fucked up...
