yes, but i think that james was better for lily, and i think even snape knew that. But I think Snape loved her more, considering he took care of her kid even though he didnt like him. And i doubt James would have done the same
Snape loved Lily Mehr than James loved her.Snape loved Lily Mehr than he loved himself, whereas James loved James Mehr than he loved Lily. That's why he was arrogant and liked being the centre of attention.
Yes because he had knew before she even met James and before he pushed his way in. He was horrible to Severus all the time. Lily in the end went out with him to stop going on but I think she was still in Liebe with Severus but she didn't want to addmit it to anyone.
i think James loved Lily in his own way and so did Snape. for me these two different kinds of Liebe can't be really compared. perhaps i would be able to do this if Lily put these two guys in an equal situation but she never did. they were simply v. different. and what is important for me in this case is that James and Lily had a child Snape both loved and hated, yet he cared for Harry etc. then again i doubt that if Snape and Lily had a child James was to look after he would. but don't forget Snape is with us throughout all of the books, and we know only the YOUNG James Potter, so it is very possible that James would change a lot if he had a chance. i can't stick it, but i don't know what i think.
We know that Snape surely loved Lily, for him the relationship was far Mehr then it was for Lily. James won Lily and he rubbed it into Snape's face whenever he could. Severus was very obsessed and in Liebe with Lily, considering she was the 1st and only person who ever was kind, friendly to him, and i know that feeling myself, I tend to latch on to people when they are kind to me as well. Some can stand people like myself, some can't. Also, if he hadn't loved her that much, that way would he really have taken it upon himself suffer all those yrs to protect Harry, who was the spitting image of James, his arch rival?!
So, I'd say yes, Severus did Liebe Lily Mehr then James. Though I do agree, both had different loves for her too, I think.
It's hard to say (and I'm trying hard to be unbiased). We know nothing about James and Lily's relationship, except that they got married and had a kid, of course. James died and was never put in the positions that Severus was.
I do, however, think Severus loved her longer, was Mehr faithful to her, and put up with Mehr than James did/would have (I mean, the guy started the whole rivalry between him, Sirius, and Severus and he wouldn't stop picking on him even though he was her best friend).
I've wonder that myself. Since there is no real insight into much about James other than an ego ars with a mean bully attitude it leaves me to think yes. I don't see James never remarrying if say Lily had only died making him a widower.
I think it may have been equal... but she was just Mehr attracted to James.
If he had loved her Mehr than james did, then i think he would've been able to look past Harry's similarities and see Lilly in him, but because it was an even battle, he couldn't let it go.
I beleive Snape loved her, but it was Mehr of an infatuation, and not actually like a relationship. I feel Snape took care of harry because he reminded him of Lily, the only girl he ever loved.

Would be cool if Snape turned out to be Harry's Dad!
Yes, he always cared for her Mehr than James ever did... I mean, he kept Lily's signature, he has the same patronous as her (a doe) and his only friend back then was really Lily... :3 Of course he loved her Mehr and for a longer time because they knew each other as children ^__^
i do believe that snape loved lily more. and to be honest i wonder sometimes if lily didn't marry James only because she knew it would hurt severus, and try and Zeigen him how she felt after he called her a mudblood. i know James didn't really Liebe lily and in my opinion James didn't reallly care for his son either sirus had compared harry constantly to james and there ofr it meat he had not changed. to me i think /james died simply becuase he thought he must live up to his house name that declared him brave. i think he would have fled. and i honestly half to sya that if the roles were reversed and snape had been in james shoes i think he would have fought Mehr for his fmaily and longer being so the will of Liebe would be on his side. and another though i think lily loved severus just the same. becuase i find it way ironic that she ends up marrying the man who had tormneted her best friend for so many years. i mean even if he had stopped pranking the kids in his seventh Jahr he still fought severus leaving him helpless. i could go on about this i have a hundred other reasons why i strongly believe severus loved lily Mehr than james ever did. but still i have no doubt in my mind that severus loved lily Mehr than james could even ever Liebe anyone but him self in that way.
I think Snape loved Lily a lot Mehr than James did, because although I'm sure James loved her, probably part of his attraction to her is that she liked Snape. Maybe. On the other hand, Snape loved Lily as a friend as well as romantically, which made their relationship deeper that Lily and James's relationship.
Liebe has so many faces. I would like to say that Snape loved her Mehr than James did, and maybe that's true. Yes, I'm one of them who don't like James for what he did to Snape, but despite all this I think James cared for Lily, SOMEHOW. It is hard to say how much he liked her and maybe for someone like him his feelings to Lily have been true.

i agree that james cared for lily but i would not sya he loved her. caring and loving somone are two different things.
No. I think Snape really loved Lily, he loved her longer, his story is all tragic and heroic, but that doesn't mean James didn't Liebe her just as much. With their Liebe it just was a different story + a story we don't know much about. Yes, James was a jerk when he was a teenager, but I don't think it's relevant when we're talking about his Liebe for Lily, it's a different matter. I don't have any reason not to believe that James later was a great husband and a loving father.
