Raleigh, N.C. — "American Idol" winner and Garner native Scotty McCreery will serve as grand marshal of the 2011 WRAL-TV Raleigh Weihnachten Parade presented Von the Greater Raleigh Merchants Association.

More than 60,000 people are expected to line the streets to watch the parade on Nov. 19. It's the largest Weihnachten parade between Atlanta and Washington D.C.


"It means a great deal to me to serve as grand marshal of this parade," McCreery sagte in a statement. "I’m really glad to be able to get out there and see all of the hometown folks. I know it will be fun."
