Hannibal Recruits The Hobbit star, sterne Richard Armitage for Killer Role 

Richard Armitage has found a role into which he can really sink his teeth.

in Season 3 in the terrifying role of Francis Dolarhyde (aka The Tooth Fairy). The main villian of Thomas Harris’

is based, the hulking Dolarhyde is a serial killer with a set of chompers that would make the Big Bad Wolf a little envious — and a penchant for targeting entire households for slaughter.

Yes! I was kind of hoping for Lee Pace, but I absolutely adore Armitage and he’s going to be amazing.

Would love to see Lee Pace make an appearance on Hannibal.

Funny you should mention Lee Pace(who I adore); rumor is he and his Hobbit co-star Armitage are a couple in real life

yeah i know about those two but Lee worked wtih Fuller several times, the rumor had been that it would be he that played Dollarhyde. Oh well at least we get his boyfriend!

Gosh. That’s a bit of casting I wouldn’t have come up with in a hundred years. He’s a great actor though and I’m looking forward to seeing him playing against type.

I was hoping Dolarhyde would have had a gender change from the book as Fuller did with Alana and Feddie Lounds. Francis is a gender neutral name. Oh well, I’ll probably still enjoy it.

The Hobbit ruined several of my favorite tv series, the most significant “Being Human” I am glad to see these incredible actors, one by one, coming back to TV series. James Nesbitt has two new good miniseries under his belt. Now we can look forward to Richard returning to TV as well. Still waiting to see Aiden Turner.

Aidan Turner is actually returning to TV this year too! He’ll be starring in the re-vamp of the series Poldark (which is supposed to have a spring release) :-)

I hope this is just the first role in a long line of great TV and movie gigs now that The Hobbit is done. Guy’s a star.

This is brilliant casting, I wonder if his boyfriend Lee Pace got him the role? It was offered to Lee in the summer but he had to turn it down because hes in Halt and Catch Fire.

I haven’t read the books (yet) so whenever they introduce new characters, I’m unfamiliar with who they are in relation to the books. But I know who Richard Armitage is, and I’m thrilled he’s joining Hannibal. An already extremely talented and impeccably cast canvas will only be enriched by his presence on the show. Here’s to hoping the stint lasts longer than 6 episodes!

This season is already shaping up to be brilliant. Casting Francis Dolarhyde is exciting news! If Hannibal gets renewed (pleeeeeaaaase NBC), we might even see Clarice and Buffalo Bill in season 4. :O

Exciting news!!! Loved him in The Hobbit. I hope this news brings in more viewers, because this is one of the best shows on TV, and I would love for it to get a 4th season.

Hannibal is one of the best shows out there , its a little too cerebral for the masses .The cinematography is fantastic the casting awesome. This guy is a great addition . He has the same bit as Bradley cooper .They must have the same dentist.

Richard Armitage is perfect for this role, he’s very diverse and intense with any of the characters he’s ever played. So a big yes on this one

l was thinking he should go in a totally different direction, and this is perfect. l read an interview where he said horror was not his first pick but l think he will bring something brilliant to this role. l currently don’t watch Hannibal but will start when he begins. looking forward to updates on Richard’s progress with the role.
