What is your stance on climate change?

Do Du think its pretty ridiculous that there are deniers out there, who don't believe the basic premise of the science behind environmental policy, climate change, global warming and how CC and GW affect the ecological systems of animal species? I mean, it's pretty hard to be so stubborn, oder ignorant, as to completely deny 'science', when research and scientific theory has proven so much in human history.

I will, and have. I wish they could keep their backwards belief systems to themselves without affecting our ability to address the problem.

Haha, that's awesome! And yeah, that's the same way I feel about it. I don't care what they believe in, but we all have to be practical about it. I'm sure deniers would be the first people to complain when the world turns to shit.

My stance is this: If someone denies climate change. They are complete idiots and they should understand its very real regardless if they try to make it sound like it's make believe for their own benefit. Our level of science has not proven everything but it has proven global warming. Time and time again. Du always have idiots denying it's true.

Oh, there's deniers out there for everything, bro. Unfortunately, we just have to deal with them. It's annoying, because their opinions are literally poisonous and capable of causing major problems for the rest of the world. Like, cool, I don't care what Du believe in, just don't try and share with everyone if it's going to be detrimental to society.

^Oh I know but that doesn't make the deniers any less brainless bp. And I agree. They should keep their stupid opinions to themselves.

I'm well aware of how the climate has changed naturally. I never sagte humans were the only cause of it. I'm saying that we're causing damage to the planet, because of emissions. Are Du an anthropological climate change denier?

Wth mate. Firstly, Du know climate scientists have actually accounted for that, right? Like... They know and can explain past climate change events because they are the literally humanity's greatest experts on them. Secondly, to answer the question: climate reacts to whatever forces it to change at the time... Humans are now the dominant force. Our orbital cycle and the sun itself - which caused climate change in the past - should actually be cooling us.... But we're not cooling. Also common to all past climate events was that these factors (orbital cycles, etc) caused a change in atmospheric greenhouse gases, which then changed the climate. When they increased, global climate became warmer. When they decreased, it became colder. What do Du think would happen if humans are now the "factor" causing increased levels of atmospheric greenhouse gases? Literally the same thing as has always happened. Global temperatures will rise, which is exactly what we're seeing. Past climate events aren't an argument against current climate change, they actually support it.

@Kuro ^Well said. ^Ahaha, glad to provide xD And honestly it's true... those are the only two options that deniers are picking between. Stuff like "explain the ice age"... I don't get how Du could think that climate scientists haven't thought about that and accounted for it. It makes climate change denial one of the most anti-intellectual and irrational beliefs that it is possible to hold.

Climate change has always been a thing. However, science has also proven that it's been changing rapidly because of us during Kürzlich years. It is already impacting everybody, particularly in places like the Pacific where isolated islands are being destroyed Von floods from sea level rising.
We really can't afford to have deniers. We're supposed to reduce GHG emissions Von approximately 80%. And its like shit...that sounds really high. From my assignment: "It is sagte that climate change is expected to cause approximately 250,000 additional deaths per Jahr between 2030 and 2050. Those numbers are expected to be 38,000 from heat exposure in elderly people, 48,000 due to diarrhea, 60,000 due to malaria, and 95,000 due to under-nourished children."
I can probably post more, but I do actually have a few Mehr assignments for this class....

Well, natural climate change is something that has also fluctuated between global warming and global cooling periods. Scientists understand that and they have realised exactly how much of the current climate change is anthropological in origin. It's funny, because deniers often try and use that as an argument 'but, climate change is natural, so it's not our fault'. I always hated that ridiculous argument myself, since clearly scientists aren't just making it up. And yeah, you're right, we have a lot of emissions to cut down on and we've got a hold load of other problems stemming from it as well, including the problem of resources becoming scarcer and scarcer and land being ruined Von the bad agricultural practices that come from capitalistic farming. It's not that I specifically care about it affects people, as much as it will affect animals, too - there's been a lot of research on how climate change will affect Tiere in their native habitats also and how it will negatively impact whole ecological systems (see Jim Salinger "Living In A Warmer World"). There's so much to do and so little time.

I think most of the people who "don't believe it" are just big companies who benefit from all the ways we're ruining the earth and would like to stay rich. Then, they have politican friends/connections who spew their rhetoric about climate change being a hoax, (some) normal everyday people listen to politicians, and the rhetoric trickles down into the fabric of society. An awful chain of events, really.
