If the voltage applied to the primary coil is to be increased,the number of turns in the secondary would be larger as compared to number of turns in the primary.Such transformer is known as a step up transformer
According to the above equation ,if voltage applied across the primary coil is to be decreased that means Es is less than Ep,then Ns would also be less as compared to Np. that is the number of turns in secondary coil would be smaller than the number of turns in the primary.Such a transformer is called step down transformer
As for the communication through waves I don't know about that check the answer of that from the internet

Ehhh...I never learned Physics in my life, and I probably won't ever learn it formally until 11th grade, but from your Frage is within my knowledge range. We learned this in a two Tag cramping session a Monat Vor when MCAS was about to begin.


So, basically, the "waves" you're talking about are probably radio waves, which should be specified since there are many types of waves. Basically, sound waves are converted into electromagnetic waves, and are then encoded onto an electromagnetic wave in the wave frequency. Radio waves can go pretty far, which makes it ideal for communication. Sorry, I'm not good at explaining.

I think a step up transformer is something that increases the voltage power in a certain thing? I think a step down should do the opposite, and decrease the voltage. My dad has one in case of something, and it has mercury in it (scary). I never really knew what it did, but it seems to do that...holy frick, sorry, don't trust me...read a physics book in the library.

Step up/step down Transformers usually converts low voltage currents to higher ones and lower ones to higher ones respectively, I think. As for the waves, I think it's frequency has something to do with it traveling. You're better off Googling this one.
