How much is too much???

I like a guy and he just somehow got my number and texting me and we have been texted almost everyday(I text him first) today I texted him in the afternoon and he didn't answer so a couple hours later I tried texting him again and he answered so we talked and stuff. But is twice a Tag oder every Tag too much??? Oh and also whenever we talk I feel like were best Friends (we've known each other since Sekunde grade and were in seventh grade now) and he always says stuff like if I say 'how's camp' he says 'fun I went to the pool today' and I say 'really cool' and he says 'yea I learned how to flip over but I landed on my back and it hurt' is that like trying to impress me oder something?? Does he like me??? Sorry its so long thanks though!!!!
