Are Du for oder against School uniforms? Why?

I am completely against them. Uniforms tear children to conformity and rob them of individuality. No two people are alike, but mandatory uniforms make students appear to be clones. School uniforms lack self-expression, leading many children to experience culture shock in the real world. Uncomfortable uniforms are an academic distraction. Children just won't feel right in their own skin when uniforms are forced on them. Uniforms can be a financial burden on some families, and is even worse when schools charge the families for the clothing. The First Amendment states that all American citizens have the right to self-expression. Identical uniforms contradict this right. Uniforms don't improve grades oder reduce bullying. They're hard to enforce in public schools. There are honestly too many reasons why they're horrible. I should know, I've gone to a public school where they enforce such stupidity. It's all personal experience. Most of the kids there are generic moronic conformists, they're the same idiots Du see in every school. They just rebel more.

We're suppose to be unique, right?

This picture depresses me...It makes me sad to see conformity spread to children.

I'm neutral. It has its pros and cons.

against!! in my school, the uniform is navy blue and white clothes and that really REALLY sucks!!

Against, for 4 reasons
1. I use my jacke as sort of a Mehr convenient backpack, it has these huge inside pockets. Where will I keep my pencils and pens, oder even my notebook if I didn't have my jacket?
2. What if I wanted to wear my suit to the first Japanese club meeting of the year, oder the last, oder just randomly for no reason? I can't do that. oder what about those times that I will be wearing my kimono to school? I can't do that ether.
3. What if they force us to wear what is not comfortable? I for one can NOT stand shorts, if they make us wear shorts, I will never be able to concentrate. It will be the other way around for people who like shorts.
4. Our country (Assuming Du are talking about countries like the United States of America) is founded on freedom, freedom of expression. If I wanted to wear a freaking kimono to school then what right does the government have to take that away. Their are some understandable restrictions to this freedom, like I can't go to school naked oder anything, and it would be nice if they would outlaw those pants that people wear so low that Du can see their butt crack. (I know there are some people out there who like crack, but not that kind.) and I can see why this may be contributing to why they may be thinking of making us wear school uniforms (other things include sexually suggestive T-shirts E.C.T.)

It isn't a problem for countries like Japan where the people are used to it, but not here in America.

Though personally I think that if they do make us wear uniforms, it should look like Japanese school uniforms. (Miniskirts FTW *,* )

I'm for unifroms. For one, I'm not exactly Paris Hilton oder anything, I don't have closets adn closets full of clothes, and whether Du realise it oder not, thats one of the first things anybody judges Du on. School is hard enough, we get judged for who we are plenty without clothes coming into it too. In our uniforms, we all essentially look the same (except obviously for small details, hair, eyes, physicality etc) and thats why I like it. Also, if you're ever involoved in an accident and you're wearing your uniform, Du can be quickly identified. To be honest on non-uniform days all there is is pressure to look the best, the hottest, the cutest etc... I don't think I could live with that every day.

Depends what they look like..
It would be nice to not have to worry about what I have to wear at school every Tag and what people think about what I wear, because they'd be wearing the same thing.
It would also save me time picking out what I want to wear to school every day..

Actually i'm for school uniforms too.
Yes they can be drab and may look uncomfortable, but Du can always modify you're uniform to be comfortable for you. If everyone wore practically everything the same, then bullying about someone's fashion sense etc would be lower. It smartens the appearance of the school for visitors and your school could even get gegeben awards maybe?
But i would put a little foot-note at the bottom of your decision requesting that underwear is not part of the school uniform and due to the 'freedom of choice' they can not 'force' students to wear plain white underwear and socks, underwear is the private domain of each individual person and so if a student wants to wear Kuma boxers underneath their school trousers, so be it. Also Du could have 'sponsored charity non-uniform days' where the school can choose a charity and the students pay £1 oder $1 each to wear their own clothes to school, usually on a friday oder a public holiday where you're still able to go to school etc.
School uniforms may seem a dull thing to have, but actually they can give students confidence to communicate with each other.

As a person that usually gets crap for dressing/looking emo/goth, I'm still against it.
It's unconstitutional. We can't express ourselves in uniform. And paying to wear regular clothes is downright unnatural. Du should have the right to downright be Du in a school. I'll admit-there should be restrictions, but it shouldn't get so bad that the school will need uniforms. That is stupid. A few years back, my school won an award. Then soon after, they decided that the school system should get uniforms thanks to the older(High school) kids dressing inappropriately, but they started with the kids Middle School and under. Unfair.
Needless to say, over half the town was there to protest.

Well I'm against them because they don't Zeigen a person's true personality. They cost a lot and what about other clothes Teens and kids have?, it's wasting Parents' money to buy uniforms and wasting the other clothes people have

Absolutely against them. Not only do they never give kids a chance to Zeigen what their interests are, but they are itchey and somewhat lifeless.

Instead of debating specific facts oder reasons, I will make my points through personal experience, since this is the only really valid viewpoint I can give. Since I have been to both a school with a uniform and a school without a uniform, I feel totally justified in passing judgement.

In primary school we had a uniform; a stupid blue polo neck and black trousers, which isn't bad as uniforms go but I still hated it passionately. It was very bad quality and became ripped easily and often. It was also very uncomfortable to wear. But I hated it most of all because it was not my choice to wear it. Although I was quite young, I resented the fact that I was being told what to wear - I wanted to wear clothes that I felt comfortable in. I also thought it was stupid that I had plenty of everyday clothes to wear (though I didn't get much of a chance to wear them) but my parents still had to pay for a uniform I didn't even want.

I am now in high school, and we don't have a compulsory uniform (although there are school hoodies available) and it is brilliant! It's funny how small things like that affect you. I feel a lot Mehr comfortable now that I am able to decide what I want to wear. Instead of feeling insignificant, like a small part of a vast body of students, I feel like a person. Like I have a place in the school as an individual. I can have a relaxed, casual Tag if I feel like it, oder I can dress a bit smarter. The point is that it is my decision.

Not for uniforms, however I am for stricter dress policies. I'm tired of seeing all the stupid sluttily dressed girls.

In my province (Quebec,Canada),in my school,we MIGHT have to were uniforms to school Weiter year!!! Ill DIE if I have to were a uniform! especially if there uncomfortable and ugly! Yeah,I could not stand it!
