Does what Du eat affect your tears? O.o

I dont eat much salty things but I had some chips earlier and they were pretty salty, then I was crying and it was really salty :/ Is there a connection?

I suppose if Du don't eat a lot of salt then your tears would naturally be a little salter, and when Du ate those chips your body may have looked for a way to get rid of the extra salt and the tears where the obvious choice.
