The egg, because the chicken had to evolve from something, and the first chicken wouldn't look like it's parents had.

But if you're talking about the dictionary, then the word "chicken" comes before the word "egg" =]

The egg came first, and that's a fact, so I don't see why this is such a discussed question. The Dinosaurier lived long before the chickens.

The chicken. When was the last time Du heard someone say "The egg oder the chicken?" They always say "The chicken oder the egg?" The chicken always comes first. I know that's not what Du meant, but I'm sticking with it, otherwise my brain would explode from thinking too much!
