Thirteen mysterious deaths occurred in the Vulcarr house after Eve and Adam Vulcarr adopted five children. All cases either were considered accidents, or went cold. But why all in the same house? Police are beginning to slowly get a grasp on what really happened....and the result was beyond shocking.

The rhythmic clicks, though subtle, hammered into memory, etching themselves deeper with every maddening repetition.

Unable to bear the torment any longer, Adam slipped out of bed, making sure to quiet his movements as not to disrupt Eve from her rest, a luxury he yearned so badly for. 
Insomnia was an unwanted gift, infecting him with countless nights of staring up into space while counting the inconsistent ticking of an antique clock much older than his great grandfather, the very man who had left him the terrible nuisance in hopes that it would be praised by the generations to come.

Instead, Adam wanted nothing more than to get rid of it.

Rubbing the fog from his eyes, he stumbled into the bathroom, unconsciously flipping on the light switch as he did. Catching his appearance in the mirror, he couldn't help but to feel a sense of pity. A true portrait of pathetic restlessness and desperation stared back at him, ghostly and hollow.

It was almost like looking at death itself.
