((A possible Roleplay I may end up posting in the near future.))

“That was what this place was called . . . The City of Souls. There are probably many other Padrones within the world but in our city, Tokyo, is where most of the activity seems to be. Everywhere I go I see dead people, and they can be so noisy sometimes. Their conversations are annoying and they are pretty uninteresting, except for the ones that talk about a certain organization known as Pieces. The Souls apparently get a bad vibe from them, and that group apparently has some pretty strong Soul-Mates. The Souls can sense it. They can sense their bonds and they can sense their bloodlust, oder at least that’s what I have been hearing. I have no idea if they are real oder not, but the Souls tend to be really scared of ‘em so I guess I should believe them. The group apparently causes a lot of murders oder something like that. I was even stopped Von a Soul once telling me that every murder oder disaster is caused Von Pieces, and that Puzzle is powerless against them. Actually, never mind believing them. That’s probably a lie anyways.”






The Soul-Base System
The Soul-Base system is the general rules and terms for usage of Soul-Mates and anything to do oder relate to Souls. Souls are the spirit forms of those who have passed on, whether it be a human oder an animal. Inanimate objects oder things that have not had life cannot become Souls oder become Soul-Mates in anyway, shape, oder form. Souls can be obtained and confined in objects called Catalysts. Catalysts have to be of great significance to sagte individual, so it cannot be some item that Du have just achieved in life. They have had to be with Du for at least one year. Catalysts can be any inanimate object, ranging from teddy bears to pencils. Even an old can of a soft drink can be a Catalyst as long as it has been with Du for a year, even though that is quite unethical and unhygienic.

Soul-Mates are dead beings that have been confined within a Catalyst. Du do not have to know the Soul for them to be your Soul-Mate, although that would be better in some regards. Bonds between Souls and their Padrone are what make the Souls better in the long run. If the Soul was a person oder animal that had a great bond with Du during their life, they will be Mehr obedient and be of better use to Du during the time they spend in the Catalyst. Padrones may also form bonds with their Soul-Mates within Catalysts, even though that can prove to be Mehr difficult.

Manifestation is when the Soul-Mate within the Catalyst transforms into an item, ranging from a gun to a large axe. Manifestation requires part of the Padrone’s energy to use, and that depends on what bond the Padrone has with their Soul-Mate. Du must focus your energy to manifest your Soul-Mate. A word of releasing is usually used to manifest a Soul-Mate, such as “release” oder “rise”. A better bond means less energy to use Manifestation and a lesser bond means Mehr of the Padrone’s energy to manifest the Soul-Mate. Soul-Mates may only be manifested for a Minute to an Stunde and in that time period the Padrone’s energy will be drained. Any longer than an Stunde of Manifestation will cause the Padrone to start losing days on their lifespan.

Rare items called Soul-Books are Catalysts which are multi-layered. They have the ability to hold multiple Soul-Mates, based on how many pages the book owns. Mehr Soul-Mates means less bonds (in some cases) and Mehr energy expended to manifest them. Soul-Books also have the ability to write a Beschreibung of each soul within each page, like a biography. There are only eight Soul-Books in existence.

Without a Soul-Book, each Padrone can have up to three Soul-Mates. Any Mehr than that and a Padrone's mental and physical state will become very unstable,

Catalysts can be destroyed, although this is sometimes detrimental because Du have to find yet another item that has been with Du for at least a Jahr to capture another Soul within. When a Catalyst is destroyed, Soul-Mates tend to say the most regretful thing they did in their past before going to the afterlife completely. Soul-Mates that were in Catalysts that have been destroyed can never return.

Each Soul has a type and an attribute, and there are currently four types and eleven attributes known. There could be more, who knows?


Types
Sword Type Soul: Sword Souls are Souls that can be used to manifest different kinds of swords.

Axe Type Soul: Axe Souls are Souls that can be used to manifest different kinds of axes

Range Type Soul: Range Type Souls are souls that can be used to form many ranged items, going from bows to guns. Note that Range Type Souls use energy as ammo oder arrows. They are usually used Von those who have had many Catalysts oder know how to expend energy well.

Bludgeon Type Soul: Bludgeon Type Souls are Souls that can be used to form bludgeon weapons, such as hammers oder maces.

Attributes:
Elemental Attribute: Souls with an elemental attribute have the ability to control one of the four elements, fire, water, air, oder earth, and manipulate them according to their desire.

Planet Attribute: Souls with a planet attribute have the ability to tap into the planet itself, and manipulate anything relating to the planet. This could include controlling the weather, manipulating one of the minor elements such as light, dark, oder electricity, talking to animals, and many many more.

Physical Attribute: Souls with a physical attribute can control things related to the body. This could include increasing endurance, increased strength, spreading diseases, healing, and many more. Note that this does not include Souls that can increase speed, that is considered a transportation attribute.

Chameleon Attribute: The chameleon attribute is sometimes considered a sub-attribute of the broader physical attribute. Souls with a chameleon attribute specifically have abilities dealing with blending in and changing shape. This could include imitating others, taking on the traits of people oder animals, varying forms a shapeshifting, the power of invisibility, and many more.

Monster Attribute: Souls with a monster attribute conceal a second, hidden form under their normal one, the ability to become a monster. This 'monster form' almost always has a name, and would obviously have increased strength, size, and certain other attributes depending on the type of 'monster' they can become.

Mental Attribute: Souls with a mental attribute rather obviously have the abilities related to the mind. This could include telepathy, psychic abilities such as being able to predict the future, telekinesis, and many more.

Hormone Attribute: Souls with a hormone attribute can manipulate various bodily emotions Von whatever means their abilities allow, usually focusing on only one oder two.

Energy Attribute: Souls with an Energy Attribute have abilities allowing them to manipulate just that: energy. There are many types of energy, this could include light waves, sound waves, plasma energy, certain kinds of life energy, and many many more.

Transportation Attribute: Souls with a transportation attribute have abilities that have to do with transporting themselves from one place to another. This could include increased speed, some form of flight, phasing through objects, anything to do with getting from one place to another.

Fate Attribute Souls with a fate attribute have abilities relating to what most people would call luck. Good luck, bad luck, miracles, jinxes, their abilities liken to those kinds of things.

Mystery Attribute: Souls with a mystery attribute have abilities that, for whatever reason, can not be classified into any of the above attributes. It has sometimes been called the 'Continuum Attribute' oder the 'Other-Worldly' Attribute, since its users tend to have powers relating to time and Weltraum itself, oder sometimes even Mehr obscure than that.


Soul Capture
Capturing Souls within Catalysts can be easy oder hard. It depends on the Padrone. Capturing Souls will probably seem awkward to the normal mortal. It involves throwing the Catalyst at the Soul and reciting the incantation of sealing. Once the incantation is spoken, the dichtung of capture will form under the Soul. This dichtung is unique to each Padrone.

“Oh being of death, become my Soul-Mate. Du shall regain life once Mehr as a being Von my side, and Du shall not be alone anymore.”

To increase the power of Soul Capture, one must render the incantation loud. The louder it is, the less resistance that the soul can give. Once it has been captured, the newly acquired Soul will telepathically whisper its attribute to the Padrone, and will always be able to communicate with their Padrone telepathically. Newly acquired Soul-Mates cannot be used until an Stunde after Soul-Capture.


Padrones
Padrones are beings that began popping up centuries and centuries Vor at the very least. The exact time period is yet unknown, but for many years they were known as 'mediums'. In short, Padrones are people with the ability to see the dead, oder Souls. Souls can be seen Von anyone if they chose to be seen, but Padrones can see always see them no matter how they hide themselves. It wasn't until recently, as in the past 100 years give oder take, that Padrones began to band together and gradually discovered the wide array of abilities that Souls had and how they could use them, all of which are stated above.

Padrones are randomly chosen from humans, although most of them tend to be individuals who have experienced a great deal of grief in their life. So far it is impossible for someone to become a Padrone due to blood oder relations, spending time near a Padrone, oder any other means, nor is there any way to transport Padrone abilities over from another. They are always chosen randomly. Some believe in an old legend stating that some higher godly force oder diety chooses worthy humans to become Padrones from a specialized place in the universe. But despite certain unexplainable evidence for it this 'diety' has never been confirmed, so many believers are shunned and it is widely dismissed as a mere fairy tale.

A human will know that they have become a Padrone once they see an odd tattoo form upon their shoulder and also gain the ability to see the dead. That means that they will be able to see old loved ones and even victims of murders. The incantation will sound throughout the Padrone's mind and they either have the choice to write it down and memorize the incantation oder completely ignore the call. The voice will also ring out through the Padrone’s head, saying that they must go to a Soul and say the incantation with an item they adore before disappearing from their mind.

Many people are highly suspicious of Padrones and their abilities, bordering on discrimination, so it's only natural that they tend to keep themselves. They're hidden, but they're there, creating a world for themselves in the shadows.

Ghouls
Ghouls are considered to be the evil counterparts of normal Souls. They are almost like monsters. Unlike Souls they can always be seen Von everyone, and usually take on the form of the human oder animal they were when they died. But this conceal a a different form. They are blackened slimy creatures who look like some sort of monster, and their true forms vary. In order to survive they must feed off flesh, mainly human flesh, and they could possibly be anywhere. They seem to live for no other reason to kill and destroy, and they are constantly causing accidents, murders, and any other variety of catastrophies. They seem to have no sense of reason, no morals, and only seem to be Tiere capable of nothing but destroying. Many Padrones apart of the organization known as Puzzle focus on eliminating them, and studying them. There are two ways for Ghouls to come around:

Natural Ghouls: Many people's biggest fear is that instead of passing on to the afterlife oder becoming an average soul after death, they will become a ruthless Ghoul. Ghouls are chosen at Zufällig among those who rise as souls, just like Padrones. It is currently unknown if any special circumstances cause this to happen, and some are investigating it.

Morphed Ghouls: For some reason, certain unfortunate Souls might end up morphing into Ghouls after rising. Some speculate that it happens to Souls who have committed a great amount of sin after rising. But while this is the most beliebt theory, there are contradicting cases, so no one knows for sure. But all Souls fear it, for they do know that it begins with a black sticky stain over where your herz used to be.

The odd thing about Ghouls is that they share the same abilities as normal Souls. They all have a type and an attribute, and can even be confined in catalysts, although it's extremely hard to do so. But due to their mindless, reckless, and evil nature, it is currently illegal among Padrones to turn them into Soul-Mates, and a punishable crime.


Pieces: The Soul-Mate Terrorist Organization
Most Padrones in the city of Tokyo will have at least heard of the organization known as Pieces. Souls Converse about them quite a bit, mainly about the fact that they target important and large places and areas, and are known to have been illegally capturing Ghouls and using them as Soul-Mates. Not one single Padrone has a definite idea of why they are doing these things, and it is the Padrone’s choice to check out what is happening oder let Mehr explosions and mysterious accidents happen around the city. Puzzle in particular has been attempting to stop them, and has even managed to capture a member oder two. There may be a surprise waiting for any Padrone that checks out the areas that are attacked oder predicted to be attacked.

Puzzle: The Soul-Mate Control Organization
It's impossible to have never heard of Puzzle. Puzzle is widely considered as the Padrone government. It is composed of the Padrone higher-ups, who lay out the basic rules and laws for Soul-Mates, help keep Souls under control, try to eliminate Ghouls, and hold Padrones responsible for their crimes. They have buildings and sub-organizations everywhere working on creating a separate yet hidden system for Padrones to follow. Nowadays, after a system has been formed, each Padrone who makes a Soul-Mate is instantly tracked and recorded. You'd be surprised at what information about Du and your Soul-Mates Du might discover in their files. Certain organizations and people such as Pieces are working on a way around being tracked, since that's how illegal acts and such are found out, and so far, it seems only Pieces may have gotten around it, since they have been hiding since before this system was created.

Tokyo
Tokyo is the city that has the most Padrones, Soul-Mates, and Souls. The City of Souls is what most Padrones and Souls call the area. There is a potential that other areas of the world may have copious amounts Souls and Padrones but no evidence has been found yet. Due to the large yet hidden population residing here, many Padrones from other countries Bewegen here in order to become apart of that hidden community. There is even a large business building that conceals an underground arena made for battling Soul-Mates, also known as Ares Arena. Tokyo is quite a bustling city with many attractions and skyscrapers. It is as if the people of the city are always busy. The sidewalks are always littered with people and the roads with cars.
