"HAVE A BISCUIT, POTTER!"

Professor McGonagall sat down behind her desk, frowning at Harry. Then she said: "Have a biscuit,Potter."
"Have - what?"

So here is a recipe for Minerva McGonagalls favourite cookies, Ginger Newts.

250 g flour
½ TL salt
1 TL cinnamon
½ TL clove powder
2 TL ginger powder
3 TL baking powder
90 g vegetable fat
60 g butter
200 g sugar
1 egg
60 ml syrup
1 handful of crystallized ginger
sugar to roll the dough in

preparation:
ofen at 180°C

Cut the crystallized ginger into small cubes.

Mix flour, baking powder and the spices in one bowl.

Mix butter, vegetable fat and sugar in a Sekunde bowl and add syrup and egg.

Now add the flour-mixture and a handful of crystallized ginger-cubes to the Sekunde bowl and make a dough.

Make balls from the dough(ca. 2 cm), roll them in sugar and put them on a baking sheet.

Now bake the kekse, cookies for 8-10 minutes.

note:
The dough is quite gluey, so I would recommend putting it in the fridge for at least half an Stunde before forming the balls.
