How Will and Kate Are Spending a Kid-Free Night in Yukon During Their Canadian Tour

Prince William and Princess Kate began a (kid free!) 24-hour visit in the Yukon on Tuesday night with a meeting with Canadian Rangers.

After touching down at the Whitehorse airport, the royal couple was greeted by a guard composed of the Canadian Rangers and Junior Rangers. William and his brother, Prince Harry, were made honorary Canadian Rangers in 2009.

Hundreds gathered at the airport to catch a glimpse of the royal couple and special Olympian Macey Hangartner presented them flowers along with Reem Arafat, a representative of an organization that helps refugees.

With this warm welcome came near freezing temperatures and light rain. Kate bundled up in a green Hobbs coat to keep warm for the official greeting while Will added a black sweater to the look he sported during the couple\'s university and food festival visits earlier in the day.

The royal parents were then escorted to the Kwanlin Dun Cultural Center where they were greeted by First Nation Chiefs and treated to a performance of

, a Yukon cultural celebration. The 45-minute performance featured dancing, singing and storytelling.

After the performance, Will and Kate were escorted to the stage where the Yukon premier presented them with a book by 9-year-old Evan James Lafreniere-Clark.

Will and Kate ended their night by meeting with performers around a ceremonial fire pit.

They remain in Whitehorse where they are spending their only kid-free night of their 8-day tour, while Prince George and Princess Charlotte remain in Victoria, British Columbia\'s Government House along with royal nanny Maria Turrion Borrallo.

The royal couple will resume their cultural exploration of the area with a Wednesday morning visit to the MacBride Museum of Yukon History followed by a visit to the small town of Carcross.
