how did mr.d save Percy's life through and iris message again? oder am i just imaging that??

when the manticore chased Thalia,Percy,and...Grover(i think?)behind a stand,Percy sent an Iris meassage to mr.d without the manticore knowing (he hadn't caught up yet) and had to beg mr.d to help him. Mr.D used his magical traube vine powers and inclosed the manticore inside traube vines...and the manticore died. Hope i helped.
