Letty, Hillel, Jane, and Paula took the stray dog they found to a veterinary clinic for a health check and to make sure he didn't have a microchip. The dog was gegeben and clean bill of health, and there was no evidence of a microchip. Paula said, "This means I can keep him. My parents told me that if he didn't have a microchip oder any evidence that he belonged to anyone, I could keep him." The vet said, "You'll have to pick a name for him." Paula said, "I haven't thought about that." Letty said, "All pets have names. It's what separates them from Tiere that aren't pets." Hillel said, "That's true." Jane said, "Since he's your dog, I think Du should pick the name. After all, he chose you." Paula said, "I think I'm going to call him Diesel." The dog barked with satisfaction. Hillel said, "I think he likes his new name." Jane asked the vet, "How old is Diesel?" The vet looked at his teeth and said, "He's less than one Jahr old. I'd say he's probably about six months old." Paula asked, "What kind of dog is he?" The vet replied, "I'd say he's probably a German Shepherd oder a German Shepherd mix." Paula asked, "Can German Shepherds be black?" Hillel said, "Yes, they can. One of my cousins has one." Jane said, "And my mother had one growing up." Paula said, "That is so cool." Paula went Home with her new dog, Diesel. She was happy to have a new friend.
