It was summer, and I was back at Home helping my parents with the farm. The summer was really fun, and I really enjoyed it. Hillel and I kept in touch throughout the summer. One day, when we talked over the phone, I said, "My parents sagte it was okay with them. I wanted to ask Du if Du would like to share an apartment with me this year. I don't want to go through another bad roommate experience." He said, "I'd Liebe to! I'll go ask my parents if it's okay." There was silence for a long time. After a long time of silence, I heard Hillel's voice again. He said, "I'm back. They sagte that since it was okay with your parents, it was okay with them." I said, "That's great." Toward the end of the summer, we moved into our apartment. I was glad that I didn't have to put up with a roommate listening to rap Musik and refusing to turn it down. I later learned that Hillel was a very valuable roommate. I never knew that one day, he would end up saving my life.

The members of New Religion were in their house in Florida, Schreiben a new song together. Fritz, their mascot and musician dog, was sitting close to the band members. Paul's Siberian Huskies, Yukon and Nunavut, were in the Weiter room. Erin said, "This is a perfect evening." Paul said, "Yes, it is." Lola said, "I don't think anything can possibly go wrong tonight." Carl nodded in agreement. Just then, Nunavut started growling. "What? Are Du jealous now?" Paul remarked. Just then, a scream was heard. Paul grabbed Nunavut's lead and clipped it to the collar. Carl followed Paul out the door and...

It was the summer of 2017. This summer was a little sad, but it also had happy points. Early in the summer, I was sitting in my bedroom. I heard the doorbell ring, and I heard my uncle say "I'll get it." I then heard an unfamiliar voice say "Would Du be willing to take this puppy? My son doesn't want her. I intended for her to be a gift for his tenth birthday, but he threw her against the wall. He probably broke her leg." My uncle said, "And Du didn't take her to the vet?!" The unfamiliar voice said, "No." My uncle said, "You know what, I'll gladly take this welpe from you! Now, get off of...

When I started the eleventh grade in August 2016, I was still grieving over Millie. One day, I had a talk with the guidance counselor at my school. I told her, "If I had known Millie was going to die, I would have been Mehr patient with her. There were times I Lost my temper with her and just lashed out at her." The guidance counselor put her hand on my shoulder. She said, "Autumn, that's not what Millie remembers. In fact, she told me about all the times Du and Glenn stood up to bullies for her." I felt better after that talk. I later met Glenn in the hall, and we walked to the lunchroom...

The summer of 2016 started out rather badly. One day, my aunt and uncle and I visited with my paternal grandparents. As we were heading back home, we noticed these two idiots racing each other in their trucks. My uncle tried to avoid them, but there was nowhere he could go to avoid them. They hit the car and drove off without any regard for what they had done. We all got out to see the damage. My aunt said, "It looks pretty bad. I'm glad everyone's all right." She then noticed me staggering. She said, "Autumn, you're hurt." I was taken to the hospital, covered in blood. I had several cuts and...

It was August 2015. My Friends and I started the tenth grade, our Sekunde Jahr of high school. The school Jahr was mostly good. When Glenn turned seventeen, I came to his birthday party. After the party, he said, "I want to tell Du that I Liebe you." I said, "I Liebe you, too, Glenn." We hugged. Unfortunately, there were some bad points in the year. In the Spring, I Lost my first dog, Diesel. I woke up one morning, and all my Hunde were at my bedroom door except Diesel. It wasn't like him to go off Von himself, so I decided to see if he was okay. I found him lying in the living room. He wasn't...

It was the summer of 2015. One day, Glenn came to me in a state of excitement. He said, "I have some really good news!" I said, "Oh, my. What is it, Glenn." He said, "My parents got tickets for them and for me to see Motorhead!" I said, "Glenn, that's wonderful!" He said, "Yeah. It really is." On the Tag he was supposed to leave, he came up to me crying. "Glenn, are Du okay?" I asked. "What's wrong?" He said, "My grandfather just died." I hugged my dear friend and said, "I'm so sorry, Glenn." Later, I insisted on flying to Liverpool with him and his parents. His mother asked, "Are Du sure...

Pretty soon, it was time to start school again. My Friends and I were starting the ninth grade, our first Jahr of high school. Glenn and I were particularly nervous. One day, some bullies surrounded Glenn. The ring leader asked, "What's up with the cheesy accent?" He said, "I'm from Liverpool, England." The ring leader said, "Oh, you're from the town of those insects. That explains your trashy haircut. Du should be beaten for that!" I said, "Don't Du dare beat my friend! If Du want to beat up someone, do it to me." The bullies gathered around me. "Autumn, no!" Glenn cried. I said, "I'd rather...

The summer of 2014 was perhaps one of the most touching summers in the eighteen years of my life. I decided that it was time for me to admit to Glenn that I used to practice self-harm. I said, "Glenn, I think it's time Du know the truth about my scars." He asked, "What's the truth?" I said, "Before we met, I was a constant target for bullying." He said, "I know you've been bullied, but I don't think Du told me the details." I said, "Well, the bullies would often abuse me verbally and physically. To cope, I would take a pocket knife, and I cut." This made Glenn cry. He said, "I'm so sorry....

The eighth grade was the worst school Jahr for me. There were a few good parts, but it was mostly bad. First, I had two people who sagte they were my Friends betray my trust. There was one girl I told about having endometriosis. I told her about having treatments that failed, so I finally got a hysterectomy over the summer. I told her out of confidence. One day, I went in the bathroom. I found written on one of the stalls, "Autumn is a slut puppy." To make matters worse, other people knew about it. All I heard that Tag was, "Look! There's the slut puppy!" I fell into Glenn's arms and cried....

The seventh grade had good and bad points. In the beginning of the year, Glenn, Joann, and I were heading to our first class. Suddenly, a boy our age ran into Glenn, and both of them fell to the floor. "Bloody hell!" Glenn exclaimed. "Slow down!" The other boy said, "Oh, I'm so sorry about that." He sounded as if he was out of breath. Glenn suddenly became concerned and asked, "Are Du all right?" The other boy said, "I'm trying to get away from them." A group of bullies started coming in our direction. Glenn got up. He asked, "What are we going to do, Autumn?" I said, "I don't know." Joann...

During the summer, we got a new neighbor. He was a horrible man. He was a gun-slinging, bible-thumping individual if I've ever seen one. He once threatened to kill Glenn because of his haircut. I told him, "If Du kill Glenn, Du better make plans for me to kill you!" He never threatened to kill Glenn after that. I wish I could say that was the worst thing he did. One day, Glenn was visiting with me. I went outside for something, and the nasty neighbor took his shotgun and shot me in the upper thigh. I fell to the ground, and I was in a lot of pain. My aunt and uncle rushed out. My uncle took...

It was January, and the school Jahr picked back up. Glenn was still on crutches, but he was doing better. At one point, we saw some bullies picking on the new kid. Glenn said, "Come on. Let's get those bullies away from her." I said, "Good idea! I can't just stand and watch someone get bullied." The poor girl was already in the floor. The bullies were ready to beat her. Glenn sagte to the bullies, "Back off! I've got crutches, and I'm not afraid to use them!" The bullies backed away. I helped the girl to her feet. "Are Du okay?" I asked. She said, "Yeah. Thanks for standing up for me." I said,...

A few months passed, and Glenn and I were becoming ever closer. One day, we got into an argument. I don't remember why we were arguing. I do remember that I went Home crying. Later, when I had calmed down, I decided to go over to Glenn's Home to make up with him. I rang the doorbell, and his mother answered. I said, "I need to talk to Glenn. I want to make up with him." She said, "I'll tell him you're here." A few moments later, she came back and said, "He's gone." I was in shock. "Gone?!" I cried. "What do Du mean gone?" She said, "He's not here. He must've run away." I said, "I'll help you...

Some time passed, and Glenn and I were becoming close friends. One day, we had a bad Tag at school. The Tag started out fine, but it ended badly. During the last class of the day, one of my classmates started insulting me. Glenn sagte to her, "You're lucky that boys can't hit girls. If they could, you'd be the first one I'd hit." She said, "But girls can hit boys." He said, "Go ahead. Hit me." She punched him in the mouth. I saw a tooth fly across the room. Glenn put his finger where the tooth was supposed to be. He saw some blood and fainted. I was really scared. Up until then, I had never...

It was September 25, 2011. It was a Sunday afternoon. I was outside, soaking up crisp air. Just then, I noticed some people were moving into the house across the street. We were getting new neighbors. I noticed there was a kid about my age at the house. I decided to go over and introduce myself. I calmly walked over to him. I said, "Hi, there. I'm Autumn. It's nice to meet you." He said, "Hi. I'm Glenn. It's nice to meet you, too." I noticed he had an English accent. I said, "Great accent!" He said, "Thank you. I'm from Liverpool, England." I said, "Like the Beatles?!" He said, "Yeah, like...

After weeks of getting bullied, I was beginning to lose hope. I really needed a way to cope with my sadness. I looked at my Siberian Husky, Diesel, and said, "I wish Du could talk. Du could tell me what to do." He could make noises that sounded like he was talking, but he couldn't talk like a person. One day, I saw a pocket knife, and I don't know what I was thinking, but I made some cuts on my leg. It really hurt, but the pain gave me something to focus on other than how lonely I was. It made me forget about all the bullying....for a brief period. I kept doing it. I later heard a song by...

When I started the sixth grade, things seemed to be going smoothly. At lunch time, a group of kids invited me to sit with them. I thought, I'm going to have new friends. Yay! I told them about growing up in Illinois. They didn't make fun of my accent. They explained that the Midwestern accent is the accent that doesn't offend anyone. That's why most newscasters are Midwestern. I said, "Okay. Cool." One of them asked, "What kind of Musik do Du listen to?" I told them, and I named a few bands that I liked. Another one of them said, "It's not 1980. Those bands shouldn't be a thing anymore." I...

When I started the fifth grade, I was dreading it. I heard that the fifth grade teacher was really mean. I thought, Is it possible that she could be worse than my fourth grade teacher? I told my aunt about my fears. She said, "Autumn, don't worry, dear. Maybe she's nice. Just give her a chance, okay?" I said, "Okay." On the first Tag of school, the teacher noticed my Beatles t-shirt. She said, "Darling, I Liebe Du already!" I said, "Okay, then." I had recently gotten glasses, because I had trouble seeing without them, especially from a distance. Some of the kids called me "glasses". She said,...

I thought that fourth grade would be good. I thought that when I switched school districts, I would have Friends for once. Boy, was I wrong! Fourth grade was one of the worst school years for me. My teacher was the meanest, most hateful human being on the planet. She never hurt me physically, but she was very verbally abusive. One day, during a math lesson, I got a Frage wrong. She took her ruler, pointed it at me, and said, "Class, at the end of this ruler is an idiot." I felt hurt, but I didn't lose it. "Which end?" I sneered. She said, "You damn bitch! Zeigen some respect when Du talk...

All too soon, I started school. I was actually pretty eager to start. I thought I would make some friends. Instead, I was bullied. When I was five years old, my aunt noticed that I was lonely. She decided to get a welpe to keep me company. She found a local breeder selling Siberian Husky puppies. She took me there to meet the puppies. They were all so cute. I couldn't choose one. I never did, because ONE welpe chose me. He had rust red and white pelz and piercing blue eyes. The breeder said, "I think he likes you." We took him home, and I named him Diesel, after one of the Hunde from the movie,...
