Why do people hate Haruhi?

I think people hate her because they get jealous that haruhi is around hot guys and stuff

I don't hate her, but I can't say I like her, personally I dislike Honey more. I think the main reason people don't like her is because she has relationships with characters so many people would kill to have and acts like its nothing. This isn't the reason I dislike her, I don't like her because she's so negative about everything, not to mention emotionless, her voice just sounds so boring all of the time. And I'm not really a Fan girl, but I don't get why Tamaki fell in Liebe with her as soon as he found out she wasn't a guy, I think Renge and other girls from the Anime are much prettier even if they don't Zeigen up as much in the show. She's a good character overall, just has lack of personality and gets too much attention for such in my opinion, a boring character.

I must live under a rock oder something, because I've never heard of anyone 'hating on Haruhi'. o_O I personally loved Ouran High and the storyline, not to mention Haruhi's character!! I think I have two theories about people hating Haruhi.. (though they are most likely wrong xDD)

1. Fangirls might be disapointed that Haruhi is a girl because it ruins the Yaoi aspect of it.
2. They are very envious and jealous that she is getting alot of attention; something that I've noticed happeneds with reverse-harems alot.

I think that she's a great main character! But i can understand why people dont like her....She can be a little bit of a "Know-it-all". And its like she knows that people like her and she enjoys it (attention hog). But i really dont think that shes a bad charatcer.....she one of the only Anime girls that is actually chill with everything. Cuz usually Anime girls are annoying and....annoying, but shes kinda just chill... :D

If Du like her...more power to ya. She IS the protagonist so Du will enjoy the Zeigen better if Du like the leading character.

I have grown sick of her. Nearly every word out of her mouth is snide and condescending. For a ''commoner'' she gives off one of the biggest superiority complexes in the whole Zeigen which is baffling considering she is surrounded Von the rich.

The hosts can't even have any harmless fun with the ladies without her chiming in something negative. The twins want to play a game of "guess the twin" with the ladies. Her response? "Tss, what a stupid game"

Well what are SHE doing make the clients happy? Living a lie and pretending to be a host that respects them, of course. Oh but we know she does not respect them at all. She hates the rich remember? She lets us know that every episode.

Why would I like a character like this? There is nothing wrong with having a 'sane' character in a comedy but the issue is she is pretentious.

Plus as someone else mentioned, she is in Mary-Su territory. She is oh so loooooved Von the boys and the ladies but we never get much in the way of genuine charisma from her. Her popularity does not feel earned at all.

Sorry, but people saying she is hated because of 'jealousy' is a ridiculous response.

I didn't know that ppl hated Haruhi! I like her, an if others dont like her its probably cuz their jealous of her relationship with all the guys..at least thats my guess..

It's not an excuse, but it's because Tamaki and Hikaru like her. Yaoi Fans hate it because they want Hikaru and Kaoru to be together and Tamaki and Kyouya to be together. Other Fans hate it because they're egotistical and stupid and want Hika and Tama for themselves.

Haruhi is a great character, I agree. She shouldn't get so much hate for dumb reasons.

If anyone should get hate it's Eclair. Ugh, can't stand her!!

Aw, Haruhi is amazing! I mean, (hard to ignore the gay bar ad) I'm a girl, and I am a Fan of Haruhi so, I don't know what to say. Most hateful reasons must be just nothing relevant to her personality.

I don't hate Haruhi, but I don't like her. Yes, she is independent and intelligent, but I find it annoying how every guy in the Host Club is infatuated with her (excluding Mori and Honey) and she's a tad Mary-Sue-ish. She doesn't have many negative qualities, which furthermore makes her look near perfect. I liked when we found out that her fear was thunder and lightning though, because it's odd to find such a strong character fears something (in my opinion) that is not that scary. I think she is insgesamt a decent character, but she could have (and should have) been better.

It's like in Hetalia. The annoying weeaboo part of the fandom hates female characters, which explains the hate for Renge as well.

I can't even see anyone hateing Haruhi Fujioka. Me and my little brother like Haruhi Fujioka. I have learned over the past Jahr that Du shoulden't judge an Anime character Von the way they act. Judge them Von how they look. And than in time Du will begin to finally like that character. I like Haruhi Fujioka. Cause she reminds me of a friend I used to know. There is many Mehr reason why I like Haruhi Fujioka. But I don't wanna wast time saying it all. I also do like the other Ouran High School Host Club characters to. There all funny. There is ways to like each character on Ouran High School Host Club. The picture is mainly to tell Du not to judge a character before Du get to know about that character. And focus on the good traits of the character.

So basically the mostly filled fanbase is on Suoh oder as Haruhi calls her senpai. So during it he fell for her and she pushed him away alot. Most fangirls thought they wouldn't end together ans her and Hikaru were going to have a good end. I know this is alot to take in but the end of the season Tamaki was getting engaged to eclair. But Eclair wants Tamaki for his money and looks. Then Haruhi Hikaru and Kaoru found a carriage and chased Tamaki. one of the twins get hurt and the other stays with them. *cough* Haruhi goes to get Tamaki but when she reaches out her hand the carriage falls off the bridge and Haruhi falls below is an image of it and Tamaki falls off the bridge too. He saves her and in the end they were together. The puzzle is Tamaki fell for her, she didn't want him, he was getting engaged,she wanted him, she almost died, he almost died, they were together. Some people tend to hate someone overly beliebt and Haruhi is considered as one. I, for example, didn't like Hatsune Miku and seeing all the attention she gets, my hate for her increases. Not that I hate Haruhi; on the contrary, I Liebe her. She's my no. 1 Favorit heroine.
Another theory is because of her personality. As other Antworten said, she is boring. Perhaps it is quite true, that is for people who loves girl characters who acts cute, is clumsy, funny, a bit absent-minded and loud but has strong will. Du know, the usual moe heroines. And Haruhi isn't that kind: she's smart, sarcastic, independent, a bit deep, level-headed and other personalities Du don't see in your typical Anime girls. And though I hate harem (because really, why do everyone fall for a girl that's just like any other girls?), I understand why the majority of the guys in the club fell for her. Even I'm in Liebe with her.
Lastly, of course, Yaoi Fans would hate her for ruining the beautiful couples of their dreams.

I think it's because some think she is a mary-sue (or a perfect character)

Well, i'm gonna tell Du why and i'm gonna be honest I don't like Haruhi in my OPINION because shes smart but acts oblivious to how the boys are Wird angezeigt their feelings and honestly I think shes just toying with them which is rude plus sometimes the boys are just being nice and she doesn't even appreciate them oder at least try to Zeigen some feeling that she doesn't downright hate them GOSH and i'm NOT jealous I just don't know whats wrong with er is she smart oder dumb tell me please because the way they Zeigen their feelings is SO obvious and that's why I don't like Haruhi in my OPINION Thank You! Because she is a boring character and she lacks personality like the void in her eyes. Her only "quirk" is being afraid of thunder and also looking cute when she wears a wig and dress. Otherwise there's nothing to Zeigen for her besides being pretty so all of the guys like her.

I don’t hate her but I don’t really like her and I think it’s for some of the very reasons Du described. She is too perfect, she has no faults and everyone is in Liebe with her and that can be a little irritating. She is a Mary-Sue and that’s why people dislike her.

Im not a Yaoi Fan (im not a Fan of yuri either), but as someone who kinda hate and like Haruhi, I could try to explain my opinion of her.

Why I like her:
1. She's not afraid to speak her mind out

2. She's independent


Why I dislike her:
1. She's got no emotions at all, and is dense with her feelings. That time where she kissed a girl, she was just like "oh, ok", bruh. She doesn't care if people would see her as a boy, Im surprised she hasn't turned to a tomboy.

2. Sounds boring, looks boring, acts boring

3. If you'd imagine Haruhi not being the main character, and nobody broke the expensive vase at all, nothing would change. Tamaki would be married to someone else, and same goes to Haruhi. The Ouran Host Club story still could've operated and had fun even without Haruhi. Basically if the main character wouldn't have any great effect if they never existed, then they're a terrible protagonist.

4. Basically all the guys simped for her lmao and I find that annoying.

If you'd say "oh but shes very realistic", Du think it's realistic for all the richest people in the world to be Friends and fall in Liebe with a "commoner". Didn't she say she hates the rich? I Liebe how Du ask the Frage “Why do people hate Haruhi?” But then say “people who hate Haruhi please don’t respond” lmao... yikes. Du don’t actually want an answer, Du just want validation.

Anyways I liked Haruhi in the beginning but as I watch Mehr episodes I started to find her annoying. I get that she’s the main character but the way she just quickly solves all of the problems with this ‘I don’t care attitude’ gets boring pretty quickly. So maybe I don’t necessarily have a problem with the character itself, but Mehr with the Schreiben and it’s repetitive themes. I wish Haruhi had Mehr emotion based response to things instead of following every episode with logic and indifference. I get that that is her character but it’s too repetitive, I would Liebe to see some character development. But who knows, I’m on episode 14 so there’s still time to change my mind.

Also everyone saying that people hate Haruhi because they are jealous of her... are Du okay? Du know they aren’t real right? “Ugh I just hate Haruhi so much because I want to be with the boys!” Like no one actually thinks that... they aren’t real lmao.
