We have no clue why BELLE is in a MENTAL WARD. the assumption is that Regina put her there...we will find out Mehr in the finale...can't wait! :)

Since Regina went to see Belle there, it is a very safe, sicher assumption that she is the one that put Belle in the hospital. This is after she lied and told Rumplestiltskin that Belle was dead in fairytaleland, so it is also a safe, sicher assumption that she wants to keep those two apart. We just dont know why yet.
