First of all I am a Fan of this spot because I am a Fan of the musical "Sweeny Todd" and there for a Fan of Nellie Lovett. However I am NOT a Fan of her actions. As Du can hear in the song "My Friends" she's had a crush on Sweeny from the start. Why else would she keep his razors for him, when she could have sold them? and she tells him Lucy, his wife, is dead, so that he can "move on" to HER. When they first meet, she is the CEO of her own pie shop, and it is SHE who first implies to Sweeny that they CAN if if they WANT to use Signor Adolfo Pirelli in meat pies, which is a smart business decision, because it saves money. Also she takes in Toby, even though Sweeny does not like him. She is the boss of the relationship. Plus When Toby finds out about the filling, she does what ANY good CEO would do... tries to have him KILLED, but he isn't, YAY! She LIED to Sweeny about his wife being dead. Clever, right? So, why do all the Fans of this spot like her? They only reason I can think of is that she is a manipulative, dominant woman, with the CAPACITY to Liebe who can save herself Von running her own pie shop. I DON'T! That is NO reason to admire somebody. Du should admire someone with good character counts. Miss Lovett does not have most of them!
