I think he's been more of a father to Tony than his actual dad was/is.

Gibbs is more of a father figure to him then his real father was/is - more respect for him. Gibbs even head slaps Tony when he has annoyed him like a father would! x

He is even like a father figure to Abby and even Ziva (her real father ignores her just like Tony's did) ! I'm not really sure if he is like that with McGee though- I don't think that they have as close a bond as the others do with Jethro...
