New Look at Disney’s ‘Moana’ Unveiled 

What’s a better way to start off the new year than with Disney Animation? Two days ago we got a new

trailer and today we got some new Moana footage! Last week, Disney released a few seconds of Maui animation during a special broadcast on television. Today, some new footage, including short clips from the movie of both Moana and Maui, were released during a Disney Movie Surfers broadcast on the Disney Channel.

The new footage features short clips from the movie, giving us our first animated look at the  character of Moana. We also get some extra footage from Maui, even though it’s from the same part of the movie as the previously released footage, it’s some new animation we have not yet seen before. Finally, we also got two new character images of both characters and their animal sidekicks.

Three thousand years ago, the greatest sailors in the world voyaged across the vast South Pacific, discovering the many islands of Oceania. But then, for a millennium, their voyages stopped — and no one today knows why.

From Walt Disney Animation Studios comes ‘

,’ a sweeping, CG-animated adventure about a spirited teenager who sails out on a daring mission to prove herself a master wayfinder and fulfill her ancestors’ unfinished quest. During her journey, she meets the once-mighty demi-god Maui (voice of Dwayne Johnson), and together, they traverse the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous fiery creatures and impossible odds.

I really like the colors and animation in that short footage with Moana. I can already tell that 2016 is going to be an amazing year for Disney!

Yup with this, Zootopia, Captain America: Civil War Doctor Strange and Rogue One!

Even Frozen did not get this much hype before it’s release: Moana will be the new Frozen.

I won’t be surprised if you are right. Frozen’s increase in popularity has driven me nuts these past two years but I’m looking forward to this new princess movie regardless of all that.

A great story is what draws me to a movie most!

Footage this early in the year? Hold on now Disney the movie comes in 10 months and your already advertising for it Wait, this is gonna turn out to be another Frozen isn’t it Disney? That’s why your advertising it very very early in the year because in 10 months time you know Moana will make a ton of money at the Thanksgiving box office this year it may beat Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Well one things for sure the hype for Moana just like Frozen will NEVER GO AWAY I’m not saying it will be a bad movie in fact I’m looking forward to seeing it this Thanksgiving weekend and chances are I’ll enjoy it but if Disney is so confident that this movie will be little new favorite Disney Princess movie and will overthrow Frozen as the best Disney Princess movie of all time that would explain why they’re advertising so early in the year. Plus we know Moana has a grandma who encourages her to go out and explore the Pacific Ocean but her Dad Tui forbids it the whole tribe to go exploring yeah yeah we’re familiar with that type of story with the over protective dad clique looking at you Finding Nemo and How to train your Dragon but will that make it a bad movie no but only if they handle Moana and Tui’s relationship differently then Marlin’s and Nemo and Stoick’s and Hiccup’s nevertheless I’m still looking forward to what Ron and John have in store for us in November and I’m still excited for this movie. And I can already smell Moana 2 happening down the road!

OMG MOANA IS JUST GORGEOUS!! I really have a good feeling about this one!! Ahhhh I wish we heard them talk or sing or do something I’m too excited!

I’m looking forward to this more than Zootopia. There, I said it. :S

I’m really excited for Moana this November! What could happen

I loved seeing Moana in motion! I think her design is absolutely stunning! My only complaint is that while her actually animation is gorgeous, her recent promotional images seem to look a little off. The first one released is great, but the one from this video as well as from last week’s look a little awkward in my opinion but in the end of the day all that matters is the in-film animation and I’m already blown away by it! November can’t come fast enough!

Maybe this film could be the new “Frozen” or the new “Princess and the Frog” cause am I the only one who might think that this film could be another target for Disney’s legacy of racism?
