benji picked Age of Apocalypse:
Probably one of the best and most epic stories told, plus the fact it contains my favourite version of Gambit :)

The only thing better than Grant Morrison's X-men is Joss Whedon's.

Dimadick picked Dark Phoenix Saga:
Operation Zero Tolerance was a major let down, with an anticlimatc ending. Bastion pretty much starts the storyline with a surprise attack on the X-Men, and captures half the tram (the other half was missinbg in a space adventure at the time). The Xavier Mansion is captured and stripped of its technology and all information the X-Men had collected on their allies and foes. Attacks on heroes and villains alike start all over the worlds, and a new breed of Sentinels uses human forms (because these Sentinels are cyborgs, not robots). People who escaped captivity are fugiteves on the run. Bastion is doing all this with plitical support from the United States government. At the end of the croosover, with Bastion seemingly invincible, Senator Edward Kelly and Henry Peter Gyrich convince the government to withdraw support from the Operation. Bastion surrenders without a fight, and everyone is allowed to go free. One X-Men crossover, where the X-Men had nothing to do with winning the day.
