Yes, the multi camera sitcom "Mad Love" reminds in the first Minuten clearly of "How I Met Your Mother". It also takes place in New York and there is a narrative. In this case it's a main character who tells the Liebe story of his best friend. Ben and Kate get to know each other in the pilot, just like Ted and Robin did, and also many of the scenes play in a bar.
But the characters still have specific features which captivate me:
